From Auxiliary President Jan Vogelsang:

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined us for our Gold & Blue Star Family Program.

Our Auxiliary, along with our sister Auxiliary 2772 from Sherman, had the honor of recognizing families who have loved ones currently serving or who have served in the military.

During the program, our Post Chaplain, Perry “Zip” Tarver, asked if anyone had ever seen a Gold Star flag from World War II. He then shared a very special piece of his own family’s history—a Gold Star flag that was presented to his mother in 1945.

The flag honored his brother, Dalton B. Tarver, who was born November 21, 1925, and died on March 15, 1945, at just 19 years old.

It was a touching reminder of the sacrifices made by our military families and of the importance of honoring and remembering those who gave so much for our country.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful program so special.

Please join us as we celebrate the life of Rodney Crouch on Sunday, October 11th at 1:00 p.m. Rodney passed away on October 3rd. He was a valued member of our Auxiliary and a dear friend to many in our community. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to Rodney’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Chicken will be provided for the service, and the Auxiliary kindly asks for donations of side dishes and desserts.

Please join us as we come together to honor Rodney’s life, share memories, and support those who knew and loved him.
