Attention North Country, NY residents!

The St. Lawrence Leadership Institute is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 program - but time is running out, so get in your application soon! Classes will typically be held in-person from 4:00 pm to 7:45 pm on the second Wednesday of the month from October through May, with a graduation in June. The 9-month course, including course materials and meals, is presented at a fee of $750. Employers often sponsor individuals and scholarships are available.

ALSO: SLLI will now issue a micro credential for students who complete the prescribed program, with support from Clarkson University!!!

The St. Lawrence Leadership Institute was designed to foster the development of emerging and existing leaders for the advancement of St. Lawrence County, its businesses, and its communities. This leadership development is achieved through three program elements: leadership skills development, community issues awareness, and networking:

Leadership Skills and Development – Each month, skills necessary for effective leadership are discussed and practiced.

Civic Awareness and Engagement - Divergent views on several issues vital to St. Lawrence County are presented in a variety of formats to help participants appreciate the past, understand the present, and prepare for the future.

Networking – With over 200 alumni since 1993, this program provides participants with critical opportunities to build professional network within the county and remain engaged as active leaders equipped to effect change in their professions and communities.

Each month the St. Lawrence Leadership Institute hosts a class featuring two parts. The first part is a lecture on a leadership topic. The second, a panel of experts focusing on a topic relevant to the county.

For tonight's class we learned about Emotional Intelligence, and our panel featured experts in the Business Development sector.

Happy Holidays!

After a brief hiatus, we are back at full speed, and thrilled to be rekindling the spirit of leadership at the leadership institute.

It’s been two years since our last post, and we've missed connecting with each and every one of you. As we step into the new year, we want to extend our warmest holiday blessings and share the excitement for what lies ahead in the remainder of the class of 23/24’s year.
