📚 Serving Poteet Since the 1940s — Supporting Our Community's Library 📚
Poteet Rotary Club members had a great time at the Annual Poteet Friends of the Library Luncheon & Silent Auction! Many of our members came out — some volunteered, some enjoyed lunch, and some bid in the silent auction.
Thank you for another wonderful annual event — it's always so fun to see everyone and support such a GREAT cause. We appreciate everything the Friends of the Library do for our community and our children!

📸 Serving Poteet Since the 1940s — Supporting Our Community's Safety 📸
For over 75 years, the Poteet Rotary Club has been serving our community — and one of the many ways we do that is by bringing life-saving education directly to our neighbors. Back in early 2025, we hosted a HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED course at the Rotary Building.
Participants learned how to recognize sudden illness, respond to serious injuries, and perform lifesaving CPR for adults, children, and infants — including proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Everyone who completed the course walked away with an official Heartsaver certification card, valid for many employment requirements.
We're proud to say this training was made accessible for just $25, thanks to the support of Rotary International and our club's ongoing commitment to community wellbeing. A special thank-you to our own Lynn Cruz, a certified AHA instructor and Poteet's hometown hero, for her time and expertise to lead our participants through these lifesaving skills! 👏
This is what community support looks like — neighbors teaching neighbors the skills that can save a life. 💙

We were honored to welcome District 5840 District Governor Robert Martinez and Assistant District Governor Jeremy Graham to our club! They shared valuable insights about what's happening across our district and updates on Rotary International's global initiatives.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, Memorial Day, members of the Poteet Rotary Club attended the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Memory Garden in Jourdanton, Texas. The event was hosted by the Atascosa County American Legion Post 436 to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedoms.
American Legion Commander and Rotarian Willie Leal delivered a heartfelt speech, followed by a prayer from Pastor Robert C**n. Veterans Ed Kisser and Rotarian Stewart Knowlton proudly raised and lowered the U.S. flag during the ceremony. Wreaths were placed by VFW Veteran Patti Hewitt, Mayor Doc Williams, and Commander (Rotarian) Willie Leal. David Martinez Atascosa Co EMS solemnly played “Taps” on his bugle in remembrance of our fallen heroes.
Those in attendance from the Poteet Rotary Club included Colleen, Mariam, Stewart, Diana, Willie, and Caroline. Representing TCRW were Diana, Sharon, James, Willie, Colleen, and Patti.
The ceremony was a meaningful tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, reminding us all of the true meaning of Memorial Day.
