🇺🇸 THE SITE IS SECURED: Help a Local Veteran & His Daughter Honor the 108 Heroes of Vaughn Cemetery 🇺🇸
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Honoring the 108 veterans resting at Vaughn Cemetery. Project led by a local veteran and daughter.
We have some incredible news to share with the Gilmore and Le Flore County community. The Vaughn Cemetery Board has officially approved and generously donated a dedicated plot of land on the cemetery grounds to establish a permanent Vaughn Cemetery Veterans Memorial.
The ground is ready. Now, as a father and daughter team, we need our community's help to raise the stones.
Through our research, we have identified 108 brave servicemen and women currently resting on the hallowed grounds of Vaughn Cemetery. Right now, there is no central monument to honor their collective sacrifice. We are ready to build one.
The Memorial Plan:
• A Custom Three-Monument Display: We are commissioning a beautiful, permanent granite installation. The centerpiece will be a custom serpentine-shaped stone holding the main dedication. It will be flanked by two classic rectangular stones.
• Honoring Our 108 Heroes: The names of all 108 veterans will be beautifully engraved across all three stones, leaving ample, intentional open space at the bottom.
• Built for the Future: This design ensures that as our living local veterans eventually pass on, their names can be seamlessly added to this place of honor right on-site at the cemetery.
How You Can Help Us:
Because the land has already been provided, every single dollar donated goes straight toward the cost of the granite blocks, the concrete foundation, and the professional engraving for our 108 veterans.
How to Donate Safely:
To keep this project entirely transparent, we have set up a dedicated project account at the bank.
• By Venmo: Send donations directly to (Please include "Veterans Memorial" and any specific veteran's name you wish to honor in the payment note!)
• By Check: Please make checks payable to Vaughn Veterans Memorial Fund and mail or drop them off to us at: 210 Country Club Rd. Poteau, OK 74953
Directly to CNB account: Please make checks payable to Vaughn Veterans Memorial Fund

OFFICIAL VENMO:

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Fellow Patriots,

My dad is a proud veteran, and together, we are taking on a community mission to honor the brave men and women who served our country and are now laid to rest at Vaughn Cemetery.

Through our research, we have identified 107 brave servicemen and women currently resting on the quiet hills of Vaughn Cemetery. Right now, there is no central monument to honor their collective sacrifice. The Vaughn Cemetery Board has generously approved and donated a dedicated plot of land on the cemetery grounds to establish a permanent memorial. The site is secured. Now, as a father and daughter team, we need our community's help to raise the stones.

The Memorial Design
We have commissioned a beautiful, permanent granite installation consisting of three stones:
• The Centerpiece: A majestic, custom serpentine-shaped granite stone holding the main dedication.
• The Honor Roll: Flanking the center will be two classic rectangular stones beautifully engraved with the names of all 107 heroes.
• Built for the Future: The design leaves intentional open space at the bottom. As our living local veterans eventually pass on, their names can be seamlessly engraved right on-site at the cemetery.

How You Can Help Us Honor Them
Because the cemetery board provided the land for free, every single dollar donated goes straight toward the cost of the raw granite blocks, the concrete foundation, and the professional engraving. To ensure complete transparency, a dedicated project account has been established. You can give safely in the following ways:

By Venmo: on your app. (Please include "Veterans Memorial" and any specific veteran's name you wish to honor in the note!)
By Check: Please make checks payable to Vaughn Veterans Memorial Fund. Checks can be mailed or dropped off to us at: 210 Country Club Rd. Poteau, OK, 74953
