Thank you ladies for helping put together 64 gift bags today. These bags are going to the Veterans Home in Post Falls. The staff at the Veterans Home like the residents to stay inside while the fireworks are going off to avoid a possible trigger for PTSD . So fun things in the bag can keep them very busy.

The start of their week long Girls State experience. On the way to Boise. They were all so excited.
A big Thank You to the Girls State representative from each unit in District #1 for all the hard work and time you dedicated to this program.
At Post Falls unit #143, we are fortunate to have Marilyn A. as our representative and she also oversees the program for the District.

A couple of Auxiliary members placed a wreath on Steven Nipp's (Post #143 name sake)grave in remembrance for Memorial Day.
When we arrived it was very touching to see numerous Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops placing flags on Veterans grave sites. After they placed the flag they saluted the Veteran. Such great respect.
THANK YOU to all the men and women and their families who gave their lives so we can live with freedom.

Congratulations to our Girls State representative Marilyn A. She is so dedicated, we had projected for 2026 to have 6 candidates, but because of her never ending enthusiasm and hard work, we ended up with 11 well deserving girls and Marilyn was also able to find 2 girls for another unit in our district.
The girls get to go to Boise Idaho for 1 week, stay in college dorms, learn about government and experience how it works. Scholarships for this program are paid thru the Auxiliary units across the entire state. The funds for our scholarships come from our fundraisers and some generous donors.

Last Saturday April 18th, the American Legion Post 143 and the Auxiliary Unit143 hosted a volunteer appreciation luncheon. We are very thankful to our volunteers that give of their time and talents to support the Post and our Veterans.
