📜 2 Samuel 14:1-3
Joab recognized that King David longed to see Absalom, who had fled after killing Amnon. Wanting to bring about reconciliation, Joab devised a plan. He sent for a wise woman from Tekoa and instructed her to present herself before David as a grieving widow and tell him a carefully prepared story.

📜 2 Samuel 14:4-7
The woman came before the king and pleaded for help. She claimed that she was a widow with two sons who had fought in the field, resulting in one son killing the other. She explained that the rest of the family wanted to execute the surviving son, which would leave her without an heir and extinguish her husband's family line.

📜 2 Samuel 14:8-10
David assured the woman that he would see to her case and protect her. When she expressed concern that others might still seek vengeance against her son, David declared that anyone who troubled her would answer to him. The king demonstrated both compassion and a desire to preserve mercy.

📜 2 Samuel 14:11
The woman asked David to swear by the Lord that the avenger of blood would not destroy her remaining son. David responded with an oath, declaring that as surely as the Lord lives, not one hair of her son's head would fall to the ground. Without realizing it, David had pronounced a judgment that would soon expose his own situation regarding Absalom.

📜 Genesis 41:17-24
Pharaoh told Joseph the two dreams that had troubled him. In the first, seven healthy, well-fed cows came up from the Nile and were consumed by seven thin, sickly cows, yet the thin cows remained just as gaunt as before. In the second, seven full, healthy ears of grain were swallowed by seven thin ears scorched by the east wind. None of Egypt's wise men could explain the dreams.

📜 Genesis 41:25-32
Joseph told Pharaoh that both dreams carried the same message from God. The seven healthy cows and seven full ears represented seven years of great abundance throughout Egypt. The seven thin cows and scorched ears represented seven years of severe famine that would follow, so devastating that the years of abundance would be forgotten. The repetition of the dreams showed that God had firmly established the matter and would soon bring it to pass.

📜 Genesis 41:33-36
Joseph wisely advised Pharaoh to appoint a discerning and wise man to oversee the land. During the seven years of abundance, one-fifth of the harvest should be stored so there would be food available during the coming famine. This plan would preserve Egypt and many lives.

📜 Genesis 41:37-45
Pharaoh recognized that the Spirit of God was with Joseph and declared that no one was as discerning and wise as he was. He appointed Joseph as second in command over all Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself. Joseph received Pharaoh's signet ring, royal garments, a gold chain, and was given authority over the entire land. Pharaoh also gave Joseph the Egyptian name Zaphenath-paneah and gave him Asenath as his wife.

📜 Genesis 41:46-49
At thirty years old, Joseph began serving Pharaoh. He traveled throughout Egypt during the years of abundance, collecting and storing grain in every city. The harvest was so plentiful that the grain became impossible to measure because of its abundance.

📜 Genesis 41:50-52
Before the famine began, Asenath bore Joseph two sons. He named the first Manasseh because God had made him forget his hardship and his father's household. He named the second Ephraim because God had made him fruitful in the land of his affliction.

📜 Genesis 41:53-57
The seven years of abundance came to an end, and the famine began just as God had revealed. While the famine spread throughout many lands, Egypt had food because of Joseph's preparation. People from every nation came to Egypt to buy grain, for the famine had become severe throughout the world.

📜 Revelation 2:12
Jesus addresses the church in Pergamum as the One who has the sharp two-edged sword. This reminds the church that Christ speaks with absolute authority and that His Word judges truth and error with perfect righteousness.

📜 Revelation 2:13
Jesus commends the believers for remaining faithful even though they lived where "Satan's throne" was. They held fast to His name and did not deny their faith, even during the time when Antipas, His faithful witness, was martyred among them. Despite living in a place filled with idolatry and persecution, they remained steadfast.

📜 Revelation 2:14-15
Although the church had remained faithful in many ways, Jesus rebuked them for tolerating false teaching. Some held to the teaching of Balaam, encouraging compromise with idolatry and sexual immorality. Others followed the teachings of the Nicolaitans. Rather than confronting these sinful influences, the church allowed them to remain in its midst.

📜 Revelation 2:16
Jesus called the church to repent. He warned that if they refused, He would come against those promoting false teaching and fight against them with the sword of His mouth. Christ's judgment begins with calling His people to repentance.

📜 Revelation 2:17
Jesus calls everyone who has ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He promises those who overcome hidden manna and a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. These gifts symbolize God's provision, acceptance, victory, and the personal relationship believers share with Christ.

📜 2 Samuel 13:13-19
Tamar pleaded with Amnon not to commit such a wicked act and urged him to speak with King David instead. But Amnon refused to listen, overpowered her, and violated her. Afterward, the love he claimed to have for her immediately turned to hatred, and he cruelly sent her away. Tamar protested that sending her away was an even greater wrong, but Amnon would not listen. She left in deep mourning, tearing her robe, putting ashes on her head, and crying aloud.

📜 2 Samuel 13:20-22
Absalom took Tamar into his home and told her to remain silent for the time being. When King David heard what had happened, he became very angry, yet he took no recorded action against Amnon. Absalom spoke neither good nor bad to Amnon, but he hated him because of what he had done to Tamar.

📜 2 Samuel 13:23-29
Two years later, Absalom invited all the king's sons to a sheep-shearing feast. After David declined the invitation, Absalom insisted that Amnon attend. Following Absalom's instructions, his servants struck Amnon down and killed him when he was celebrating. The other sons of David fled in fear.

📜 2 Samuel 13:30-36
A false report first reached David that all of his sons had been killed. Jonadab corrected the report, explaining that only Amnon had died and that Absalom had planned it ever since Tamar was violated. Soon afterward, David's sons returned safely, and there was great weeping throughout the household.

📜 2 Samuel 13:37-39
Absalom fled to Geshur and remained there for three years with his grandfather Talmai, king of Geshur. David mourned for Amnon, and in time his grief began to ease. Even so, the division within David's family continued to grow as Absalom remained in exile.

📜 Genesis 40:1-8
While in prison, Pharaoh's chief cupbearer and chief baker were imprisoned alongside Joseph after offending Pharaoh. Each man had a troubling dream on the same night. Seeing that they were distressed, Joseph asked what was wrong. They explained that they had dreams but no one to interpret them. Joseph replied that interpretations belong to God and invited them to tell him their dreams.

📜 Genesis 40:9-23
Joseph interpreted the dreams through God's guidance. He told the cupbearer that he would be restored to Pharaoh's service in three days and asked him to remember him once he was restored. He told the baker that he would be executed in three days. Everything happened exactly as Joseph had said, but the restored cupbearer forgot Joseph, leaving him in prison.

📜 Genesis 41:1-8
Two years later, Pharaoh had two troubling dreams that none of the magicians or wise men of Egypt could interpret. In one dream, seven healthy cows were devoured by seven thin cows. In the other, seven full ears of grain were swallowed by seven thin ears. Pharaoh was deeply troubled because no one could explain their meaning.

📜 Genesis 41:9-13
The chief cupbearer finally remembered Joseph and told Pharaoh how Joseph had accurately interpreted the dreams while they were in prison. He testified that both interpretations had come true exactly as Joseph had said.

📜 Genesis 41:14-16
Pharaoh immediately sent for Joseph. Joseph was quickly brought out of prison, shaved, changed his clothes, and stood before Pharaoh. When Pharaoh said he had heard Joseph could interpret dreams, Joseph humbly replied that he could not do it himself, but God would give Pharaoh the answer he needed.

📜 Psalm 19:1-6
David declares that the heavens continually proclaim the glory of God. Creation itself testifies to God's power, wisdom, and majesty without speaking a single word. The sun faithfully runs its course each day, reminding us that God's handiwork is evident to all who are willing to see it.

📜 Psalm 19:7-11
David turns from God's revelation in creation to His revelation through Scripture. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. God's Word is trustworthy, wise, pure, and righteous, bringing joy to the heart and light to the eyes. It is more valuable than gold and sweeter than honey, warning God's servants and bringing great reward to those who obey it.

📜 Psalm 19:12-14
David humbly asks God to reveal hidden sins and keep him from willful sin. He prays that the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart would be pleasing to the Lord, whom he calls his Rock and Redeemer.

📜 Proverbs 3:1-12
Solomon urges believers to treasure God's commands, walk in steadfast love and faithfulness, and trust in the Lord with all their heart instead of relying on their own understanding. He teaches that honoring the Lord in every area of life brings His guidance and blessing. He also reminds us not to despise the Lord's discipline because it is evidence of His love for His children.

📜 2 Samuel 12:24-25
After the death of their son, David comforted Bathsheba, his wife. She gave birth to another son, Solomon, whom the Lord loved. The Lord sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah, meaning "beloved of the Lord," as a sign of God's favor and grace.

📜 2 Samuel 12:26-31
Joab captured the royal city of Rabbah and called for David to come and lead the final victory so the city would not bear Joab's name. David gathered the army, captured Rabbah, took its crown, and brought great spoil from the city. This victory completed Israel's campaign against the Ammonites.

📜 2 Samuel 13:1-5
David's son Amnon became obsessed with his half sister Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom. His sinful desire consumed him until he became physically distressed. His cousin Jonadab, described as a very crafty man, devised a deceptive plan for Amnon to get Tamar alone.

📜 2 Samuel 13:6-9
Following Jonadab's advice, Amnon pretended to be sick and asked David to send Tamar to prepare food for him. Trusting her father's request, Tamar went to Amnon's house, prepared the food before him, and served him.

📜 2 Samuel 13:10-12
Amnon sent everyone else out of the room and asked Tamar to bring the food into his private chamber. When she came near, he grabbed her and demanded that she lie with him. Tamar immediately pleaded with him not to commit such a disgraceful and sinful act, urging him to do what was right instead.

📜 Genesis 39:1-6
Joseph was taken to Egypt and sold to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard. Though Joseph was a slave, the Lord was with him, causing everything he did to prosper. Potiphar recognized that the Lord was blessing Joseph and placed him in charge of his entire household, trusting him with everything except the food he ate.

📜 Genesis 39:7-12
Potiphar's wife repeatedly tried to seduce Joseph, but he refused. Joseph recognized that giving in would betray Potiphar's trust and, more importantly, would be a sin against God. One day, when no one else was in the house, she grabbed his garment, but Joseph fled, leaving it behind rather than giving in to temptation.

📜 Genesis 39:13-18
Angry over Joseph's rejection, Potiphar's wife falsely accused him of attempting to assault her. She used Joseph's garment as false evidence and repeated the accusation to the members of the household and later to her husband, twisting the truth to protect herself.

📜 Genesis 39:19-20
When Potiphar heard his wife's accusation, he became angry and had Joseph thrown into the king's prison, where the king's prisoners were confined. Although Joseph was innocent, he suffered because of the false accusations against him.

📜 Genesis 39:21-23
Even in prison, the Lord was with Joseph, showing him steadfast love and giving him favor with the prison keeper. Joseph was placed in charge of all the prisoners, and everything entrusted to him prospered because the Lord was with him. Though Joseph's circumstances changed, God's presence never left him.

🚛📖 Church for Truckers Bible Study Recap • 2 Samuel 12:15-23

📜 2 Samuel 12:15-18
After Nathan departed, the Lord struck the child born to David and Bathsheba with a severe illness. David pleaded with God on the child's behalf, fasting, lying on the ground, and refusing food. The elders tried to raise him, but he would not. On the seventh day, the child died, and David's servants were afraid to tell him, fearing how he would respond.

📜 2 Samuel 12:19-20
David noticed his servants whispering and realized the child had died. After confirming the news, David rose from the ground, washed, anointed himself, changed his clothes, and went into the house of the Lord to worship. He then returned home and ate when food was set before him. His first response after receiving the news was to worship God.

📜 2 Samuel 12:21-23
David's servants questioned why he had fasted and wept while the child was alive but arose and ate after the child's death. David explained that while the child was alive, there was hope that the Lord might be gracious. But now that the child had died, fasting could not bring him back. David declared, "I shall go to him, but he will not return to me," expressing both acceptance of God's sovereign will and hope beyond this life.

📜 Genesis 37:25-36
After throwing Joseph into the pit, his brothers saw a caravan of Ishmaelite traders traveling to Egypt. Judah suggested selling Joseph instead of killing him, and the brothers agreed, selling him for twenty pieces of silver. They dipped Joseph’s robe in goat's blood and deceived Jacob into believing that a wild animal had killed him. Jacob mourned deeply and refused to be comforted, while Joseph was taken to Egypt and sold to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh.

📜 Genesis 38:1-11
The narrative shifts to Judah, who married a Canaanite woman and had three sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah. Er married Tamar but was put to death by the Lord because of his wickedness. Judah instructed Onan to fulfill his duty to provide offspring for his brother, but Onan deliberately refused, and the Lord also put him to death. Judah then delayed giving Tamar his youngest son, Shelah, fearing he too would die.

📜 Genesis 38:12-23
After Judah's wife died, Tamar realized Judah had not kept his promise. She disguised herself as a pr******te and waited where Judah would pass by. Not recognizing her, Judah sought her out and left his seal, cord, and staff as a pledge until he could send payment. Tamar conceived by Judah, and when Judah later tried to retrieve his pledge, she could not be found.

📜 Genesis 38:24-26
About three months later, Judah was told that Tamar was pregnant through sexual immorality, and he demanded that she be punished. Tamar then produced Judah's seal, cord, and staff, proving he was the father. Judah acknowledged his guilt, saying that Tamar was more righteous than he was because he had failed to give her to Shelah as he had promised.

📜 Genesis 38:27-30
When the time came for Tamar to give birth, she delivered twin sons. During the birth, one baby's hand emerged first and was marked with a scarlet thread, but he drew it back, and his brother was born first and was named Perez. The second son was named Zerah. Perez would later become part of the family line leading to King David and ultimately to Jesus Christ.

🛣 Deception often produces grief and consequences far beyond what we expect.
🛣 God sees hypocrisy and calls His people to integrity and faithfulness.
🛣 Even through human failure and broken family situations, God continues to accomplish His redemptive plan.
