HB 348 has officially been signed into law in New Hampshire.

The bill changes how municipalities can determine eligibility for local welfare assistance, including allowing communities to require proof of residency before providing certain forms of emergency support.

Advocates worked throughout the legislative session to improve the bill and secure important protections, while continuing to raise concerns about how new residency requirements could impact Granite Staters experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or crisis.

Housing stability starts with accessible support systems and communities willing to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Hot on the heels of Seacoast Affordable Housing Week, Pop Up Care Village season is here and we’re excited to be lining up another great series of community events across the region.

Our first two Pop Up Care Villages are officially scheduled, and two more are already in the works as we continue expanding this effort across the Seacoast.

From housing support and basic needs resources to connection, community, and care, these events are about meeting neighbors where they are and making support more accessible.

Tell your friends. Tell your neighbors. We can’t wait to see you.

The first Seacoast Affordable Housing Week was more than we could have hoped for.

Across seven days, residents, businesses, municipalities, advocates, developers, housing providers, artists, and neighbors came together for honest conversations about the future of our communities and the choices that will shape them.

We toured housing developments, elevated stories too often ignored, engaged local leaders, challenged myths, explored solutions, and created space for people to imagine a different future — one where housing opportunity exists across incomes, ages, and stages of life.

Thank you to everyone who showed up last week not just to acknowledge our housing challenges, but to push for something better.

To the residents willing to share their stories. To the advocates and providers carrying this work every day. To the businesses, municipalities, artists, volunteers, sponsors, and neighbors who chose to engage in difficult conversations about who can afford to stay, who is being left out, and what kind of communities we want to become.

Progress on housing takes people willing to step forward, challenge assumptions, and keep pushing even when change feels slow. Last week proved the Seacoast has those people, and that the momentum for change is here and growing.

More homes. More neighbors. A stronger Seacoast.

See you May 15–21, 2027. 🏡

As we gear up for one of the biggest events of Seacoast Affordable Housing Week happening tonight, we want to recognize and thank our Presenting Sponsor, Kennebunk Savings. 🏡✨

This first ever weeklong initiative would not be possible without partners who understand that housing is not just a development issue. It is a workforce issue, an economic issue, and a community issue.

We are deeply grateful for Kennebunk Savings’ leadership, partnership, and shared commitment to building a stronger Seacoast where more people, families, and workers can afford to call this region home.
