Scioto County Amateur Radio Emergency Services Scioto County (ARES) Emergency Coordinator (EC) is Chris Kemper KB8IIH. Trustees are Jerry Swords, Danny Edwards and Gary Stephenson.

Secretary / Treasurer is Larry Mullins. Scioto County ARES is a group of dedicated ham radio operators who donate their time and expertise to their communities to provide emergency communications in times of crisis. Their repeater is located at 145.45. Public safety agencies utilize the ARES organization to establish a critical link to facilities and personnel essential for response and recovery from emergency situations and disasters. Plans have been developed that provide for ARES volunteers to provide emergency communications when regular means of communications have been disrupted. Their dedication ensures public safety organizations can provide missions to protect the welfare of the citizens in Scioto County.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for the entire area Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures will fall into the mid to lower 30s. Frost formation will be damaging to any sensitive outdoor vegetation.

Falling temperatures and northwest wind 15 to 25 gusting in excess of 30 mph are expected with a cold frontal passage early this morning, bringing fall-like conditions. Overnight lows Friday and Saturday night will be in the upper and lower 30s, respectively. Freezing temperatures will be likely in many locations Sunday morning.
