Portsmouth has officially been named one of just 25 finalists in the running to become Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town of 2026!

Over the next 5 days, the heaviest precipitation forecast is across the far northeast basin. Forecast rainfall totals are up to 1.50” across the northeast basin. Elsewhere, scattered amounts up to 0.50” is forecast.

Temperatures will continue to increase the next few days. Heat index values will be around 100 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some low chances for storms will arrive on Thursday and Friday.

According to the NWS in Wilmington, OH...a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued. Expect hot and humid conditions this week with heat indices around 100°.

A gradual warming trend is expected through the weekend, with highs reaching the 90s through the first half of next week. Precipitation chances will remain low, but some showers and storms may be possible in the second half of next week.

A cold front will touch off scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Ohio Valley the next couple days. Most areas will see less than a half inch of rain, though locally heavier totals are likely. Minor flooding lingers on the White and Wabash rivers, but forecast rainfall should not cause any additional hydrologic concerns.
