Foster Grace Program 💙

Serving children and youth in foster care, or children that have been adopted through the foster care system with free tuition. 🩰

Safe Haven Ballet's Pre-Professional Ballet School and Foster Grace provides free ballet classes to children and teens suffering mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges as a result of involvement in the foster-care systems: increasing access to the arts and improving the wellbeing of youth-at-risk. This program supports physical and mental healing for these vulnerable children through high-quality free ballet classes, led by professional ballet dancers. Our goal is that 80% of foster-care children report improvements in self-confidence, happiness, and wellbeing. ✨️

This summer has been filled with so many beautiful firsts.

We’ve had the joy of pottery, visits to farms and barns, ice cream runs, and many moments of joy together.

But some of the most meaningful firsts have been even bigger. Learning to drive and starting driver’s education. Riding a horse for the very first time. Flying down a water slide. Choosing to be baptized and publicly declare a new life in Christ.

These moments may seem ordinary to many, but they are extraordinary for young women who have experienced unimaginable trauma. Every new experience is an opportunity to heal the inner child, build confidence, create joyful memories, and begin rewriting a story that once felt impossible.

This is what hope looks like. One brave step, one beautiful first, and one life transformed at a time.

Beautiful yard clean up day at the RISE property as we prepare for summer!

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers and little helpers who came out and accomplished so much. Every flower planted, w**d pulled, and project completed helps create a welcoming place for the women and children we serve.

Today was such a fun day! A heartfelt thank you to Service Credit Union in Rochester, at Pease, and Portsmouth for collecting baby bath and baby care items for the Rise Community Baby Shower, and for your sponsorship of this community event.

Important discussions happening as a bipartisan effort to help young adults transition from foster care to adulthood!

Two former foster youth joined First Lady Melania Trump and Members of Congress at a roundtable conversation about a new slate of bipartisan legislation focused on modernizing the Chafee Program, which helps young adults transition from foster care to adulthood. ⁣
⁣
Jaydan Martinez, who entered foster care in Texas at the age of six, shared the challenges he faced pursuing a college degree without a support system. Jocelyn Fetting of Illinois talked about the resources that allowed her to obtain bachelor’s and master’s degrees and encouraged Congressmembers to pass the legislation, adding that the bills “shorten the distance between survival and success. Foster youth are not broken. We are ready… but readiness is not the problem. Access and having people in our corner is.”⁣
⁣
This conversation is part of a bipartisan push from the House Committee on Ways & Means to strengthen Chafee and improve outcomes for foster youth. NFYI supports this legislation because it reflects the priorities foster youth have been naming — and moves us closer to real, lasting improvements.⁣

Each year, this event creates a space where women facing difficult circumstances are not only supported but truly seen, celebrated, and loved.
