Today was such a fun day! A heartfelt thank you to Service Credit Union in Rochester, at Pease, and Portsmouth for collecting baby bath and baby care items for the Rise Community Baby Shower, and for your sponsorship of this community event.

Your support in providing these important necessities is such a blessing. Thank you as well for the beautiful blankets donated by a kind individual.

We are working hard to gather all the items needed to make this day extra special for the mothers and babies!

Important discussions happening as a bipartisan effort to help young adults transition from foster care to adulthood!

Two former foster youth joined First Lady Melania Trump and Members of Congress at a roundtable conversation about a new slate of bipartisan legislation focused on modernizing the Chafee Program, which helps young adults transition from foster care to adulthood. ⁣

Jaydan Martinez, who entered foster care in Texas at the age of six, shared the challenges he faced pursuing a college degree without a support system. Jocelyn Fetting of Illinois talked about the resources that allowed her to obtain bachelor’s and master’s degrees and encouraged Congressmembers to pass the legislation, adding that the bills “shorten the distance between survival and success. Foster youth are not broken. We are ready… but readiness is not the problem. Access and having people in our corner is.”⁣

This conversation is part of a bipartisan push from the House Committee on Ways & Means to strengthen Chafee and improve outcomes for foster youth. NFYI supports this legislation because it reflects the priorities foster youth have been naming — and moves us closer to real, lasting improvements.⁣

We are so excited to share that our third annual Rise Community Baby Shower is quickly approaching.

This special event will take place on MAY 16TH, where we will gather to celebrate and support moms and babies in our community.
Each year, this event creates a space where women facing difficult circumstances are not only supported but truly seen, celebrated, and loved.
Because of your generosity, moms will
• Receive essential items for their baby’s first year
• Shop a beautiful boutique filled with items for moms and babies
• Experience the joy of a shared baby shower surrounded by community
How You Can Help
We are inviting our community to come alongside us again
• Purchase items from our Amazon wish list below
• Donate new baby items such as diapers, wipes, and clothing
• Sponsor a mom or a portion of the event (Email: [email protected])
• Volunteer your time to help make the day special

This event is more than meeting physical needs. It is about restoring dignity, bringing hope, and reminding each mom that she is not alone.
Thank you for continuing to show up for women and children in such a powerful way. We truly could not do this without you.

This is really important.

26-47% of child trafficking cases in America involve a family member. It’s something we have seen often with our work with Rise.
It’s important to know this hidden form of abuse and educate yourself on the realities of this issue.

Familial trafficking occurs when a parent, caregiver, or other family member is the trafficker. Our research shows that 26–47% of child trafficking cases in America involve a family member, underscoring the urgency of naming and addressing this often‑hidden form of abuse.

We are honored that our Founder and CEO, Dr. Jeanne Allert, is presenting our research on familial trafficking at the 2026 National Conference on Juvenile Justice in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Yesterday was a special day.

We received an emergency placement for a young mother and her four day old newborn. Moments like this make it impossible not to see the hand of God moving heaven and earth on behalf of someone who desperately needs Him.

Rise showed up. Volunteers quickly gathered what was needed, down to the most loving and thoughtful details. Because of this community, a mother and her baby were welcomed with care and love. This prevents another child from entering foster care and a mother from becoming a statistic.

Thank you for helping us change lives. Thank you for believing in people who simply need someone to believe in them.

We have exciting news to share.

As Rise continues to expand our mission and initiatives, we are grateful to announce that our housing and support services at our location are now open and available.

From the beginning, our mission has been to embrace, educate, and empower young women in need of support. This milestone marks a meaningful step forward in providing safe housing, stability, and holistic care for those we serve.

We are thankful for the many partners, supporters, and community members who have helped make this possible, and we look forward to the impact ahead as we continue this work together.
