Today Only! The Scioto Foundation is holding their annual Scioto Gives Day! Your contribution will contribute to the long-term sustainability of our organization and enable us to continue providing resources to those in need in Scioto County.

From 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today only, contributions will be received on the Scioto Foundation website, www.sciotogives.org, by a simple procedure. Using the pull-down menu on the website, donors can select The Potter’s House Ministries and the amount they wish to give, list credit card information and press “donate.” Donors may send checks to the Scioto Foundation at P.O. Box 911, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662 or they may transfer stocks during the designated twelve-hour period on October 15. Donors may also drop checks off at the Scioto Foundation’s office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the giving period, or at The Potter’s House Ministries offices from 9am to 6pm. The matching amount each nonprofit receives will be determined after all contributions are received.

The Potter's House Ministries will be holding an event on November 18th 2026 to honor and celebrate our local veterans and their families with a free meal, door prizes, food boxes, and information from local veteran-focused organizations.

The Potter's House Ministries is happy to be once again participating in Scioto Gives Day! Donations made on October 15th from 8am to 8pm will receive a matching donation from The Scioto Foundation.

How Can You Give on Scioto Gives Day? 💡

On October 15 from 8 AM to 8 PM, there are several ways to support your favorite local nonprofits:

✅ Drop off a check at our office at 303 Chillicothe Street in Portsmouth (make checks payable to the Scioto Foundation and write your preferred nonprofit's name in the memo line)

✅ Cash donations accepted in person

Planning to give a gift of stock? Please contact our office at (740) 354-4612 no later than this week so we can get that processed in time.

Every dollar you donate will be matched from a pool of $65,000. Choose from 55 local nonprofits making a difference right here in Scioto County.

Monday is Columbus Day.

The Potter's House Ministries will be open.

We're expecting a semi truck full of Sr. boxes, produce, cheese and an order of food. It usually arrives between 9am and 10am. Our crew could use your help. If you're able and available, we'd love to have some extra help Monday morning unloading the truck. If you'd like to call first before showing up, the number is 740-776-4004. Someone will be there by 9am to take your call.

Throughout September, when you purchase a red "Support Your Local Community" reuseable bag at the Wheelersburg Kroger. $1 will be donated to The Potter's House Ministries.

Every dollar helps us provide food, programs, and assistance to individuals and families throughout our community. Please pick up a bag during your next shopping trip, and encourage your friends and family to do the same!

Reminder tomorrow is the last day to pick up your kids food boxes at both The Potter's House and 456 Brown Street!! We only have a limited number to give out. The government is now requiring that all children be present to get a box. I apologize for the inconvenience that this is going to cause!

UPDATE: WE CAN NOW GIVE OUT BOXES AT THE POTTER'S HOUSE FROM 9am until 2pm. Sorry for the confusion, they just gave us the go ahead. We did not get kids boxes in at 456 Brown Street Portsmouth. We will have them next Tuesday from 9am-2pm. This week we will have boxes from 12pm until 2pm. Kids must be with you to receive a box. I apologize for the inconvenience this is going to cause.
