We’re excited to share the news of Dr. Elizabeth Ackley’s appointment as the inaugural director of the Seacoast Impact Collaborative (SIC)!

SIC brings together organizations across housing, food, health, workforce, transportation and social services to coordinate efforts, share information and resources, and work toward collaborative solutions to community challenges.

Liz will dedicate the majority of her role to leading SIC, while also working with Gather on our community-impact and systems-change efforts. We’re proud to serve as SIC’s inaugural fiscal host and excited to have Liz’s experience and leadership strengthening both efforts.

“People are taking more food. [...] They’re clearly feeling like they need everything they can get now.”

Gather’s Executive Director Anne Hayes recently spoke with New Hampshire Public Radio about the growing need for food assistance and what we’re seeing firsthand here at Gather. As more people turn to us for support (34% more people now than this time last year) and food donations decline, we’re seeing how tighter budgets and other factors are affecting our community in multiple ways.

Yesterday, we celebrated Gather's newest Fresh Food Bus location at Lamprey Health Care in Newmarket, NH!

This new location is helping expand access to fresh, nourishing food across the Greater Seacoast. In just three weeks, Gather has provided more than 1,800 pounds of food to 150 people in the Newmarket community through this partnership.

Community members joined Gather and Lamprey Health Cares's staff and board members for the celebration, which included remarks from Lamprey Health Care Co-Chief Executive Officer Sue Durkin, Gather Executive Director Anne Hayes, and a statement from Senator Shaheen.

As we continue to see the need for food assistance grow, partnerships like this are more important than ever. We’re grateful to Lamprey Health Care and to the many community members, partners, and supporters who make this work possible and help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.

One year at Heritage Ave! 🎉 And what better way to celebrate than with the people who make Gather what it is?

Recently, our staff spent an afternoon at Bird Dog C***r reflecting on the past year, celebrating all we’ve accomplished, and having some fun.

Naturally, that included a little friendly competition, too, with teams going head-to-head in a co****le tournament. Congrats to Chuck and Jill on taking the top spot!

Thanks to Bird Dog C***r for having us, and Shelley and Steph for putting together such a fun afternoon! We’re grateful for our entire team, and look forward to continuing to build on what we’ve created here at Heritage Ave!

Gather’s Gardening and Gleaning Manager, Ally Lynch, and Food Systems Coordinator, Allison Bussiere, are featured in the latest issue of Hannaford Supermarkets Fresh Magazine! Hannaford joined us at Roots in Reverie in Lee to talk about the impact of Gather's gleaning work across the Seacoast and see our team in action alongside Root in Reverie's Josh Andrews.

We’re incredibly grateful for Hannaford’s support, which has helped our gleaning program grow from 6,556 pounds of produce recovered in June 2025 to nearly 11,000 pounds in June 2026 – adding three new farm partners!

New to gleaning?
Gleaning is the recovery of fresh produce from farms that might otherwise go to waste. Gather partners with farms throughout the Seacoast to receive produce donations or send staff and volunteers to harvest surplus crops.

That fresh food is then shared through our markets or transformed into delicious, prepared meals. Gather also facilitates NH Gleans - a statewide network of organizations that rescued more than 400,000 pounds of food in the past year!
