This September, we invite you to celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month and discover how a library card can hit all the right notes, no matter what your tastes are.

With a library card, you can do more than check out books. From free classes and job resources to free internet access, streaming media, and cultural events, today’s libraries connect communities to information, inspiration, and each other.

This year’s theme, “A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes,” is a reminder that libraries offer something for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Whether you’re checking out a classic story or trying something new, finding harmony at the library’s programs, vibing out in a cozy nook, or composing your future with new skills, there’s a seat in the front row at the library for you, and your library card is the ticket.

Getting a library card is free, easy, and empowering. For students, it’s a key to academic success. For adults, it’s a gateway to lifelong learning. For everyone, it’s a smart way to stay connected to your community.

This September, B sharp, and sign up for a library card! Stop by any Scioto County Public Library location or visit us online at www.sciotolibrary.org to sign up for your card today.

A Sunday to Return: Starting a new season together

The choir will return to lead worship.
And that means our choral scholars will also return!
We’ll also bless all the students and educators who are returning to their classrooms.

Summers are full of vacations and travels, and this will be a Sunday we can all return and start a new season together.

No matter how long you’ve been gone, there’s always a time to return.

Summer takes us in many directions.
Now, students and educators return to school.
The choir returns to our worship.
And after a season of travel, rest, and changing rhythms, we gather again as a community for a new season together.

Wherever you have been, whatever you have been carrying, and however long it has been, you are welcome to return and start a new season with us!

PDA is starting a new series: at the beginning of each week, we will share a new prayer as we recognize the long-term impacts of natural and human-caused disasters. We invite you to share your specific prayer concerns in the comments, if you feel called, so we may pray together as a community. This week, we lift up those who have lost their homes to wildfires.
Let us pray,
Loving God, we pray that your presence may be near to those who have lost their homes and much of what filled them due to wildfires. Comfort them in their grief and provide for their daily needs. Lead them gently toward a place to settle again. Amen.

Please join us in lifting up prayers for our siblings in Nepal as search and rescue is still underway from last week's flash floods and landslides.

PDA has processed a solidarity grant for our partner Juneli Nepal and we are working with our other partner in Nepal, TOGETHER FOR NEPAL, while they assess the needs to soon put in their grant request, as well.

For more information, including how to give to support this response, see our website. We will provide updates as they are available. https://pcusa.org/disaster-assistance/active-responses/international-disaster/nepal
