Artists' Collaborative Theatre Of New England (ACT ONE) is casting the role of "Anthony" for its upcoming non-Equity production of "I and You" by Lauren Gunderson at the Hilltop Playhouse in Somersworth, NH. Performances are currently slated for Jul 17 - Aug 1, 2020; rehearsals will be in Dover, NH Jun-Jul, dates TBD. The role is paid; pay TBD. [Please note: the role of "Caroline” has been cast.]

"Anthony" is a high-school senior (looking for early 20s to "read" as 17-18). He is poised, mature for his age. African-American. He's an "A" student, a team player (varsity basketball), and a nice guy, though he's not really great around girls. He takes his homework very seriously. When he likes something (jazz music), he is all in. Throughout the play, he looks at Caroline as though he's trying to figure her out. He really needs to know who she is.

The role of "Anthony" is the backbone of this stunning two-hander and requires an actor ready for a challenge.

Our Story

Artists’ Collaborative Theatre Of New England (ACT ONE) is a New Hampshire nonprofit tax-exempt arts and education organization established in 1997 to present, promote and produce the fine arts, with special emphasis on theatre production.

ACT ONE's mission is to build community by bringing friends and neighbors together in a shared experience of the arts and humanities. The exploration of ideas and emotions that live theatre makes possible is vital to the health of our society, prompting dialogue and discovery at many levels. By producing quality theatre and outreach programs for libraries, schools, and senior centers, the Collaborative sees to enliven hearts, minds, and spirits and strengthen the bonds of community.

Stephanie Voss Nugent is the founding Executive Director of Artists’ Collaborative Theatre. From 2007-2019 ACT ONE has presented an annual Festival of theatre, concerts, and storytelling each August through October at the West End Studio Theatre in Portsmouth, NH. Over the years, ACT ONE has drawn together a loyal “family of theatre patrons who share a passion for life theatre. We will be exploring new theatre venues to continue our mission of bringing outstanding performances of stories with heart to audiences in the future.
