The Workforce Solutions and Community Development department of CAO oversees business services, training opportunities, employment guidance, community development, parenting and fatherhood programming, smoking cessation, pregnancy navigation, & more. Visit our fully equipped Resource Center where you can meet with our experienced staff, use our computers to conduct an internet job search, write your resume, review current job postings from entry-level to professional, get the latest information on the labor market, make copies of your resume and important employment documents, fax your resume to potential employers, use our telephone service for job prospecting, and research available financial aid. In addition, you can register for one of our workshops such as Navigating OhioMeanJobs.com, Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Interview Techniques, Appearance Matters, Applying for Jobs...Online, Personal S.W.O.T Analysis, Job Search Techniques, and Computer Basics. Employment Specialists are also available to assist with special needs.

Community Action Organization of Scioto County
Family Advocacy and Prevention Manager

Make a lasting impact in Scioto County! We are looking for a dedicated leader to coordinate the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), lead the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), and direct local public health & wellness initiatives—including the Scioto County To***co Prevention Coalition.

KEY DETAILS

Hourly Rate: $25.35/hr (Exempt)

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk, flexible between 7 AM – 10 PM)

Location: Portsmouth, OH & Scioto County Sites

Department: Workforce & Community Development

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Interagency Leadership: Coordinate joint responses to child abuse cases and facilitate monthly multi-disciplinary case reviews with law enforcement, CPS, and medical professionals.

Coalition & Public Health: Lead the Scioto County To***co Prevention Coalition, drive community outreach, and manage prevention programs.

Direct Advocacy: Provide trauma-informed support, oversee forensic interviews, and ensure high quality of care for children and families.

Program & Grant Oversight: Manage grant narratives, monitor budgets, track key performance data, and supervise advocacy staff.

QUALIFICATIONS (Meet ONE of the following)
-Preferred: Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field + 1 year human services experience.

-Track A: Bachelor’s degree in related field + 3 years human services experience.

-Track B: Associate’s degree or High School Diploma/GED + 5 years relevant human services experience (including supervisory roles).

Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, background check, and drug-free workplace compliance.
