Celebrating NH’s first representation on the Strategic Council

Alyssa Murphy, AIA has been appointed by the AIANH Board of Directors to serve as our first representative to the national Strategic Council.

Alyssa served as chapter president in 2018. She is currently the editor of Forum, our quarterly magazine. Alyssa is also a founder and principal at Placework. She will serve on the Strategic Council for a three-year term and will report to members via a regular column in Forum.

Formed in 2015, the Strategic Council advances the architecture profession by informing the Board and other Institute bodies about important professional issues, opportunities, and threats. Although it is not an AIA governing body, the Council's work is vital to AIA's ability to serve the profession.

Material selection is a core service provided by architects, but that process is far from simple. The Materials Certificate Program untangles the complexities of that process in five essential courses. The key? Materials transparency. When you know everything you can about the materials you use, you’re able to make the best product decisions for projects, people, and the environment. The courses cover different types of impacts, and best practices for reducing these impacts, from industry-best instructors. Take all five courses and earn a certificate! AIA New Hampshire is able to offer this AIAU course series with a steep discount. Members registering individually through AIAU would otherwise pay $25 per course, $125 for the series. Non-members would pay $40 per course, $200 for the series.

6.25 HSW credits for $50 member / $100 non-member

You will receive a link to all five courses in your confirmation email. Visit the link in our bio to register and for more info!
