Table and Event Sponsorships for Jacob Tolliver's Ugly Sweater Soiree are now available!

Individual Tickets will go on sale starting November 1.

We are thrilled to announce that we are once again partnering with Jacob Tolliver to raise money for Downtown Portsmouth beautification!

Join us for Jacob Tolliver's Ugly Sweater Soiree on Tuesday, December 8th, at Marting's.

Deck the halls, break out your ugliest sweater, and prepare for a rockin' evening sure to jingle your bells!

Please note that the price for online and card purchases is increased to help cover the cost of the fees we are charged for these transactions. To save money and avoid fees, payments may be made by cash or check through our office.

Today is Scioto Gives! Make your gift count by donating today to the Paul E. & Kevin W. Johnson Memorial Fund for the benefit of Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom. Donations are accepted online and at the Scioto Foundation at 303 Chillicothe Street in Downtown Portsmouth through 8pm today, October 15.

The Paul E. & Kevin W. Johnson Memorial Fund is used exclusively for Downtown Portsmouth beautification and floral displays.

You are invited to join Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom for the Second Annual History Fair from 10:00am-3:00pm on Saturday, October 24, at the SSU Morris University Center West Ballroom.

This event is admission free and open to the public.

This year’s History Fair is being sponsored by Shawnee State University, and is being held in conjunction with the 3-day weekend (Oct. 22-24) program to honor baseball’s legendary coach/”pioneer”, Branch Rickey, a native of southern Ohio.

Events honoring Rickey include a panel discussion on “Branch Rickey’s Legacy” on Oct. 22 and presentations of the play, “The Life and Amazing Times of Southern Ohio’s Own Branch Rickey” on Oct. 23 and 24. Tours of historic sites in the area will be held on Oct. 24.

The Branch Rickey events and History Fair are part of “America 250 – Ohio 250 – Ohio Commission”. The University’s Center for Public History is coordinating the 3-day Branch Rickey events.

Again this year, Portsmouth area resident, Jim Siberell, is Event Planner for the History Fair. Eleven local area history organizations are participating. Many of these organizations will be bringing historical displays or exhibits, which the public will find of particular interest.

The eleven history organizations include Southern Ohio Museum, Heritage Museum (Portsmouth), Man Street Portsmouth in Bloom, Scioto County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Scioto County Public Library (Local History Department), Battery L – First Ohio Light Artillery, Shawnee State University (Center for Public History), Daughters of the American
Revolution, Portsmouth Murals, Friends of Greenlawn Cemetery Foundation, and Heritage Museum (Lucasville).

Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom Executive Director, Emily Uldrich, would like to thank everyone at Heritage Ohio choosing her to present a session at the 2026 Heritage Ohio Annual Preservation & Revitalization Conference!

A message from Emily:
“Building Community Through Collaboration” is a tried and true method for revitalization. It was a pleasure to share the strong partnerships that have contributed to enhancing our community here in Portsmouth and to learn from people in other communities about what has worked for them.

Thank you to Kacie at Main Street Downtown Greenfield and to Libby at Elyria Community Partnership for sharing photos as well as ideas! Building a network of community leaders with whom to share ideas is one of the best benefits of the Heritage Ohio Main Street America program.

And in the spirit of sharing ideas, I also have to thank Abigail of Eden Design Co.! Abigail, I stole your hairstyle from the Farmers Market. It took a while to figure out how you did it, but then I remembered a prehistory lesson in twining cord. It is these threads of connection that tie our precious heritage to our bright future!

Join us from 1:00-5:00pm this Saturday, October 10, for the 2026 Art Walk! The Art Walk will be centered a the Roy Rogers Esplanade with family friendly art activities, local artist booths, music, performances, and more. The Art Walk is admission free and open to the public.

Remember to pick up your Art Walk Puzzle Map and visit the participating Art, Culture, and Innovation District restaurants and retailers to discover the Couture and Culinary Arts in Downtown Portsmouth. Pick up a puzzle piece at each location, complete the Art Walk Puzzle, and enter the prize drawing for a chance to win!
