What a year…2023. Nothing but pain (literally) and challenges. I’ve been due for a struggle, but what a shot to the heart this has been. If the goal was to defeat me…they shouldve took me out during that car accident. Being able to live, means I have things left undone. It means I have objectives to complete. It means I have mountain to stand on top of. If that was my low point, it wasn’t low enough to ruin my ambition. I have affected 1,000’s of people’s lives over the last 10 years. Here is to the next 100,000. Like always…

In life, sometimes we are met with obstacles that slow down and interfere with our progression to success. But what we fail to realize at times is that those obstacles are apart of our journey. They are apart of our triumph. They are pieces to our puzzle. Once we decide, as men and women, that today we are finishing what we started then we have to commit to that. And commitment means finishing with no excuses. Derek did it. Tore his Achilles off the bone mid race and he couldn’t stop running because he made a commitment to finish. Probably made the injury ten times worse but he couldn’t go back on his commitment. His heart was on his side, God was on his side, the crowd was on his side, his father/family was on his side. Like Derrick, sometimes you’ll need a little help and that’s okay. It’s okay because we won’t win ever battle. But the victor of war is always within arms reach. Why? Because discipline, determination, drive and commitment is what makes those goals reachable. Keep fighting. Keeping learning. Keep reaching. Keep on. For you.

Because of health issues, I’ve had to adjust a lot of our projects. However, we are going to spend some meaningful effort in helping educators, childcare providers and youth programs.

Pick Up The Pace is organizing a cleanup walk in the Portsmouth, VA communities. We will go to several sections and areas to pick up trash, garbage, bottles, paper and debris. We need your help! Volunteers are needed to make this effort more impactful to our environment and communities. Head over to www.pickupthepace.net to sign up today. Pick Up The Pace is organizing a community cleanup in the City of Portsmouth. The official date will be posted within the next few weeks but we are looking for about 50 volunteers for this effort. You can follow the link below and sign up today. If do not think you can participate in the event but would like to contribute or donate. Click the link to and head to our homepage to find the donation button. We need any and all the support we can gather so donations will be taken to assist with supplies, materials, and future nonprofit related events.

Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by persons 18 and older. That persons does not have to be a relative or guardian, as long as they have written or emailed approval from the underage parties parent or guardian.

We are going to start cleaning up our neighborhoods. One sector at a time. Pick Up The Pace is gathering the community together to walk the streets and clean up the trash. We are grabbing paper, cups, plates, food, any and everything that we can remove that shouldn't be laying in our enivornm...
