The Links has a long tradition of engaging in educational, civic and intercultural activities. Members are influential decision makers, opinion leaders and distinguished achievers. e Links, Incorporated has a partnership with Portsmouth Public Schools with its Ebony and Ivory Piano Lessons in Schools, The Budding Young Artists' Contests in PPS High Schools. The Portsmouth (VA) Chapter was named National Award Winner of CHA (American Cancer Society Advisory) program and a recent Award recipient of the HEAL program (Health Equity Ambassadors) in the fight against Breast and Colorectal Cancer. In addition to funding scholarships to HBCU students and collaborating with targeted elementary schools, The Link on to Literature I and II programs continue to enhance SOL and reading literacy scores.
