Built for the girls who show up ready to compete.

Softball Player Showcase is back … creating opportunities for high school softball players to be seen, grow their game, and compete alongside some of the region’s top talent.

This is more than a showcase.
It’s access. Exposure. Confidence. Community.

503 Day in Portland.

Honored to stand alongside leaders, community partners, and advocates in this space as we celebrate what makes this city special and why it continues to be recognized as the global epicenter of women’s sports.

At Friends of Baseball, we’re proud to be part of building that foundation… developing the next generation of leaders through our Girls LEAD program and creating space for young women to grow, lead, and see what’s possible.

Grateful to stand with our team…

This is what community looks like.

Meet Zulaykha A., program alumni whose journey started with a simple spark.

At just 10 years old, while at Friends of Baseball programming Z created this drawing of Jackie Robinson inspired by his story and what he stood for. During her time in Full Count, she found confidence, community, and a space to grow.

That spark continued. Z went on to become a high school mentor in our Girls LEAD Softball program, giving back to the next generation. In 2025, she earned Softball Player of the Year in the Portland Interscholastic League as a catcher at Roosevelt High School, a reflection not just of her talent, but of her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to growth.

Today, Z is a first-year college student studying Early Childhood Education and remains active in her community, continuing to support youth and stay connected through Roosevelt High School. She represents what it means to be a Major League Citizen.

Z’s journey is a reminder of what’s possible when young people are given access, encouragement, and the opportunity to grow into who they’re meant to be.
