Something powerful is rising on the corner of N Williams and N Russell. 🏗️

More than 50 years ago, this land was taken from our community. Today, it’s being rebuilt for us, by us. Our Black-led team at Colas Construction is on-site turning a long-broken promise into affordable homes, homeownership, and a future Black Business Hub for the Albina neighborhood.

Every beam that goes up is a step toward return, restoration, and generational wealth for the families who were displaced. This is what healing looks like when community leads.

To the neighbors, elders, and partners who never stopped believing: this is for you.

Step straight into a room that feels like it’s already in full swing. Live jazz hits as soon as you reach the doorway. Within moments, you will be greeted with champagne. The sunken ballroom buzzes with motion, friends spotting each other across the floor, new introductions, laughter, and a steady hum of conversation.

Around the room you will see photo moments, casino-style play, and a curated silent auction to keep guests moving, mingling, and soaking in Gala energy from the very first act. 🥂

Homeownership is possible, and this weekend we saw that conviction in action.

On Saturday, we joined Oregon Realtist (NAREB) at Avenue Portland for the 2026 Paving the Way for Black Homeownership forum, a free and family-friendly event connecting first-time buyers, current homeowners, and families with the resources to build their financial future through real estate.

We were especially proud to see our strategic board member Michael Rahsaan of Columbia Bank take part, standing alongside the lenders, realtists, and community partners committed to closing the homeownership gap in our city.

Thank you to everyone who came out, and to the Oregon Realtist team for creating a space where possibility becomes a plan.

The work continues. 🏡

The roofline is going up 🔨

What sat empty for 50 years is taking shape on the historic Hill Block: 20 townhomes rising floor by floor in the heart of Albina.

Built by our own, for our own, with Adre and Colas Construction. A new landmark is coming, and it's coming home.

07/08/2026

Ever wonder what's rising on the old Hill Block?

Here's your look.

On this 1.7-acre site we're building 20 townhomes for ownership, 85 affordable apartments, and a 30,000 sq ft hub for Black-owned businesses.
Broke ground February 2025. Built by our own, for our own, with Adre and Colas Construction leading the way.

Follow along as it comes to life.
