Sailing Ships Maine

Sailing Ships Maine We draw their eyes up from their phones and direct them skyward as they handle the sails that send them to their destination.

Sailing Ships Maine delivers experiential learning programs at sea and creates life-changing opportunities for teens of all abilities and income levels to discover the ocean environment, expand leadership skills, and consider further maritime training. Sailing Ships Maine (formerly Tall Ships® Maine) goes steps beyond the normal daysailing programs of Maine and sends kids to sea on sailing ships f

or week-long voyages of self-discovery. They don't need to know anything about sailing or have a dime to pay. They only need to join a team, give and take instructions, and work together in a 24/7 environment where they must be dependable and must depend on others. It's here they can discover a strength and self-reliance that they might not have ever found ashore.

Behind the scenes of getting shipshape 👀

Sara Jane might look cozy in her winter shed, but there’s a whole lot happening—sanding, fixing, checking, prepping. It’s that time of year when we put in the work so she’s ready to take on another season of adventure.

Good things take time… but we promise she’ll be worth the wait.

⚓ Summer is coming.

🚨 LAST CALL 🚨

We’ve got ONE spot left in our Diesel Engine Class on Sunday, May 24th — after that, BOTH classes are officially FULL.

If you’ve ever:
⚙️ stared at your engine and thought “what is all this stuff?”
⚙️ worried about what you’d do if your engine quits underway
⚙️ questioned why you’re paying the yard for basic maintenance
⚙️ wanted to actually understand things like injectors, lift pumps, and impellers
⚙️ or just felt like getting your hands dirty with some engine oil…

…this class is for you.

This is a full-day, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the fundamentals of diesel mechanics, maintenance, and troubleshooting — and walk away actually confident opening up your engine compartment.

Don’t miss the last spot 👉 https://givebutter.com/workshops2026

See you in the engine room.
