2026 Summer Camp at Butte Creek Scout Ranch is in the books! Yee-Haw!! We all had an amazing time making new friends, trying new things and learning new skills. Our favorite activities included archery, BB guns, horseback riding, campfire programs, gold panning, sunset hike, receiving mail via Pony Express, and getting ice-cold slushies at the Trading Post. It was an unforgettable 3 days and we can’t wait to go back next summer! Butte Creek Scout Ranch Pictures

Camp Meriwether provided the most gorgeous backdrop for our Spring Pack Campout! ⛺️ We did all the must-do activities on a scout campout, including foil packet dinners, Dutch-oven dessert, s’mores, a campfire🔥 program with skits and jokes, flag 🇺🇸 ceremony, and a short hike. An added bonus was decorating and flying kites🪁 on the beautiful beach below.

It was a successful weekend of bonding together and learning new skills while having so much fun that the scouts were sad to leave. We sweetened our drive back home with a quick stop at Tillamook Cream for ice cream 🍦 and smiles!

We were treated to a fantastic visit and tour of Schoch Dairy & Creamery by the lovely owner, followed by a delicious tasting of their varieties of milk. Chocolate was the clear winner! 😋 The scouts learned about the process of how milk goes from cows to our tables, and about the hard work the dairy farmers do every single day - no holidays and no sick days! 😮
We just happened to be there when the milking cows were let out to pasture for the first time this season! It was so fun to see the cows excited with glee as they ran to get their first mouthfuls of sweet grass. Mmmm!

A wonderful, sunny☀️ day at Jackson Bottom Wetlands. Our Cub Scouts were treated to a fun and interactive workshop (with Lewis, who is awesome!) to complete their Champions for Nature adventure, followed by a 2-mile hike around the wetlands. We saw a variety of wildlife - snakes, frogs, tadpoles, fish, a beaver, swallows, ducks, geese, hawks, mason bees, and many other insects. It was great to see everyone’s excitement to stop and observe the creatures we encountered. Definitely fun, with a purpose, fulfilled!

These scouts are ready for spring! They built these simple, yet beautiful bird houses using just hammers, nails, and screws. We can’t wait to see little bird families use them to make their cozy nests! 🪺 🐦‍⬛

Our amazing Cub Scouts collected 616 lbs of food last weekend for our annual Scouting For Food event!! It’s our biggest collection ever! 💪🏼 Thank you to our generous community for your donations, which helped to restock the bare shelves at the San Juan Diego food pantry.

Happening Today! Scouting for Food helps feed our neighbors in need. Our Cub Scouts will be collecting non-perishable food donations outside Bethany QFC from 9am-3pm today. Make a purchase in the store, hand it to the Cub Scouts outside, and they will deliver it to the San Juan Diego Food Pantry. Thank you for helping our community!

It was a night of sweet celebration for our Arrow of Light Scouts as they crossed over from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA! We are so proud of these young men and the dedication they demonstrated throughout the years of their Cub Scout journey. We will miss seeing them in our meetings, but know they will be having a great time learning and growing through even bigger adventures as Troop Scouts! Good luck to all of them!

🏁2026 Pinewood Derby!🏁 We had a great turnout for this annual event. Cubs design and make their own cars out of wooden blocks and race them down the track. The process of building something from concept to reality while using specialized tools provides a unique learning experience for the scouts. It’s exciting to see the creativity displayed in the design of each car and watch them zoom down the track! 🏆🏎️
