Love it when people compete to save lives!!

What started as a creative idea for a friendly competition between the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at MHMMC Portland quickly transformed into a major success. Last week, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team took over the monthly blood drive and turned it into a spirited challenge between the Medical ICU, the Neuro ICU and SICU — an effort that filled every appointment slot and generated incredible energy across the units. With the most donors, the SICU was the winner of bragging rights and bagels, but the real achievement was in how these units came together for a good cause. Generous care team members from across the organization donated during the blood drive, a wonderful achievement and one we hope to see repeated throughout the year.
