Sellwood Community House is hiring a part-time Finance Coordinator to help steward the financial health of our community-centered nonprofit. If you love building organized systems, working with numbers, and contributing to work that has a real impact in Portland neighborhoods, we’d love to hear from you.

Part-Time (approximately 20 hours/week)
Hybrid and flexible schedule
$35 to $50/hour, depending on experience

This is an opportunity to help strengthen the foundation of an organization that brings recreation, education, arts, and community connection to thousands of Portlanders each year.

Join our incredible SCH Shack teen staff and volunteers for Slow Crafts all weekend in the coyote neighborhood.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday
11 AM–1 PM & 3 PM–5 PM

Take a break from the festival buzz to make something with your hands, catch your breath, and enjoy a little pocket of calm.

Our Flipping Into Fall Mini Gymnastics Camps are back August 11th to 13th with Coach Meme and Coach Andrea! Whether your gymnast is trying the sport for the first time or ready to shake the summer rust off, these three evenings are packed with movement, skill-building, confidence, and fun.

Bike Bus to The Shack & SCH! The perfect way to kick off a summer Monday 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

Join us for the 2026 Summer Bike Bus to Sellwood Community House and The Shack at Sellwood Park. Every Monday morning, we’ll roll together through the neighborhood on bike-friendly streets, with music, an adult ride leader, and a caboose rider making sure no one gets left behind.

The ride begins at 8:30 a.m. in front of Llewellyn Elementary School and wraps up at Sellwood Park, where a full day of fun awaits at The Shack.

Here’s where you can hop on along the route:
• 8:30 a.m. | Llewellyn Elementary (SE 14th Ave)
• 8:35 a.m. | SE 19th & SE Claybourne St
• 8:40 a.m. | SE 19th & SE Spokane St
• 8:45 a.m. | Sellwood Middle School (SE Umatilla St & SE 15th Ave)
• 8:50 a.m. | Sellwood Community House
• 8:55 a.m. | Sellwood Park

A few things to know:
• Helmets are required for riders under 16.
• Kids riding independently should be at least 8 years old and comfortable riding a couple of miles.
• Younger riders are welcome with parent or caregiver support.
• Parents are encouraged to ride along.
• Please make sure bikes are in good working order.
• We’ll ride at an easy pace, and no one will be dropped.
• The Bike Bus is one-way to Sellwood Park. Riders make their own way home.

Summer Sellwood Sessions in the Park are nearly here (next week!!!), but before we kick off another season, we need to give one last round of applause to the people who made it all possible.

Thank you to the incredibly generous musicians who donated their time and talent: Laura Veirs, The Delines, Jenny Conlee, Laura Gibson, and all of their accompanying musicians.

Thank you to Oaks for giving us a screaming deal on the venue so that more of every dollar raised could go directly toward bringing free music to the park this summer.

Thank you to for taking Sellwood Sessions on with such intention and heart.

And thank you to everyone who attended and donated— Because of you, we raised the funds needed to support a whole summer of free music in Sellwood Park.

It takes a village—and ours is a really wonderful one.

Summer concerts begin Friday, July 10th at 6:30pm. The full lineup is live on our website, with artist highlights coming soon. Bring a picnic, grab snacks and drinks from The Shack, and settle in for another season of truly wonderful music.
