The June Teach Maine Center Professional Development Calendar is here!

June is one of the busiest times of year for educators, and this month's PD offerings reflect that reality.

June Spotlight: Maine Department of Education Office Hours

Before heading into summer, consider reflecting on how restorative practices and Wabanaki Studies have shaped your classroom culture this year. The Maine Department of Education is offering a supportive space to do just that.

Two ways to participate:
- Weekly Office Hours: focused on restorative practices in your classroom
- Monthly Office Hours: focused on Wabanaki Studies

We hope you will carve out a little time this month to connect and reflect.

Check out this Real Estate Flyer designed by Heather Whitaker.

This summer, grow as an educator AND build your classroom library!

TMC is proud to support MCSTOYA Connects: Neurodivergent Reads, a professional learning opportunity designed for educators who want to better understand and serve neurodivergent students.

Here's how it works:
✅ Part 1 – Read from a curated booklist of neurodiversity-affirming picture books, middle grade, and YA titles (you choose what works for you!)
✅ Part 2 – Join an in-person gathering on August 12, 9:30–3:00 PM at Colby College for book discussions, workshops, and featured speakers

Featured speakers include:
🎤 Stephanie VanSoest, Speech-Language Pathologist & neurodiversity advocate
🎤 Kim Leo, LCPC, Clinical Director of Mental Health Services at Brett DiNovi & Associates North

Participants receive contact hours AND a free book for their classroom.

When possible, MCSTOYA encourages supporting local libraries and independent booksellers for your book choices!
