Battery-caused fires in garbage trucks and waste processing facilities have increased by 40 percent over the past five years. You can help prevent these fires by disposing of batteries properly.

If you live in a single-family home, you can recycle your batteries by taping their ends, placing them in a quart-size (or smaller) zip-top bag, and putting the bag in the curbside glass recycling bin. If you are not in a single-family home, you can explore your recycling options at www.oregonmetro.gov/waste-disposal-and-prevention/need-get-rid-something/ask-expert/find-recycler

Huge thank you to Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association and Waste-Free Advocates Spring Green event for their incredible support of A Caring Closet! 💚

Because of this amazing community effort, a large collection of gently used durable medical equipment was donated — wheel walkers, crutches, and more… OH MY!

With a total value of $4,115.37, every single item is reusable and ready to help someone in need. That’s real impact.

We’re so grateful for neighbors helping neighbors and making a difference.

If your neighborhood would like to do a medical equipment drive, please contact us.

A new amendment submitted by CAA Oregon aims to strengthen how recyclable materials are verified as responsibly recycled under Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act.

The proposal outlines an interim verification approach while work continues on a more comprehensive standard that could eventually support recycling verification across multiple EPR programs nationwide.

Great!
