University Neighborhood Organization Host community events in Oakdale Neighborhood. Longfellow Park is an ADA accessible and inclusive for all to use and enjoy.

The University Neighborhood Organization (UNO)
Host major celebrations such as the "Longfellow Park" 90th & 95th Anniversary Celebrations, Halloween Fire Prevention Festivals, Neighborhood Block Parties, Earth Day, Poetry Readings & Oakdale Arts Festivals. UNO sponsors the "Longfellow Park Lights Aglow" Celebrations, creating a magical transformation from dark park into a warm glowing wonderland.

Longfellow Park, established in 1927, is a triangle shaped park in the heart of the Oakdale neighborhood surrounded by Oakdale, Noyes and Longfellow Streets in Portland, Maine. UNO leadership and advocacy resulted in Longfellow Park improvements and amenities including new ADA compliant asphalt walkways with handicap ramps, benches, and electricity. In addition, UNO advocates for Oakdale Neighborhood traffic calming, sidewalk improvements and greater ADA access.
