Tonight at 7PM, Pachios on the News sits down with Senator Angus King for an unfiltered conversation about the government shutdown — why he voted to end it, what he was hearing privately inside the Senate, and how Mainers were already feeling the impact.

SNAP, heating assistance, small-business loans, Head Start — thousands were getting squeezed with no real path to a deal. King breaks down the politics, the pressure, and why shutdowns have become more symbolism than solution.

Watch the full interview tonight at 7PM on Channel 5, Channel 2, YouTube, and streaming on PMCWatch.com plus all PMC Watch apps across Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Google TV, and more.

Dance on over and vote by EOD tomorrow! 🗳️

Portland Media Center is starting a little mini document series of our local heroes.

The awesome Ideal Maine Social Aid & Sanctuary band and Lumen ARRT! collaborated last month during First Friday Art walk to inspire us all that every vote counts on the ballot questions that impact us all. Our PMC education coordinator filmed a few moments of the scene.

Last Thursday October 23rd we had an awesome event here at PMC to share the first episode of The New Youth Times a new television show created by local teenagers about civic engagement. The New Youth Times started this past summer as part of a Civic IQ and Gateway to Opportunity intensive in collaboration with two awesome organizations: MYAN (Maine Youth Action Network) and YPC (The Young People’s Caucus) We had a nice turnout of people gathered in our 📺 TV Studio / event room to watch the episode and listen to the teen producers talk about their experience and takeaways. There was also an audio booth and interactive posters and refreshments. You can watch the first episode via link in bio and we added some merch to our website highlighting the show, you can check it out on our site. Stay tuned for more episodes of The New Youth Times, coming soon!
