Institute for Christian/Muslim Understanding

Institute for Christian/Muslim Understanding The Institute of Christian-Muslim Understanding (ICMU) was founded in 2003. ICMU events often present speakers who are experts in their field and a shared meal.

The impetus came from gatherings of concerned Muslim and Christian leaders in Oregon and Southwest Washington following the 9-11, 2001. Valuing their deepening relationship and desiring to help eliminate negative stereotypes and prejudices which may exist in both faith communities and the public, ICMU was formed to foster educational and cultural opportunities for learning and personal interaction

. Breaking bread together can be a memorable social experience while learning about the culture and faith traditions of those around us.
