Great news!

The US District Court for the District of Maine has denied ballot petitioners' attempt to stop the Secretary of State from enforcing Maine’s rules and residency requirements for out-of-state circulators.

This decision upholds Maine's voter rules and strongly affirms that the anti-trans citizen initiative does NOT qualify for the ballot in November.

Juju deserved safety. She deserved a long life full of joy and love with the people who care about her. Earlier this month, Juju, a 21-year-old trans woman, was killed in an act of senseless violence. There will be vigils to honor her memory this Friday August 21st at 8pm at Congress Square Park in Portland and at the Charlie Howard Memorial in Bangor. This Friday, August 7, NOA's Lewiston/Auburn Luncheon will be taking place from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM! Sunday's Ellsworth Luncheon will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM! Both of these meals will be potluck style, and there will be plenty of food to share. If you would like to bring a dish, you’re more than welcome to but there is no cost to attend either event.
