The MAC Scholar Athlete program, created in partnership with the Multnomah Athletic Club, supports hardworking student-athletes, fostering leadership, community, and future opportunities.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Meet some of our incredible 2026 Loprinzi School Finalists! Each of these standout grads received a $1,000 award to support their education at a 2- or 4-year college of their choice.

☀️ Emma Weaver, a Southridge High School graduate, will be attending St. Thomas University in Florida.
🏀 Nico Ashby-Eskew graduated from Ida B Wells High School and will attend Gonzaga University.
📚 Alisa Safina from St. Mary's High School will be attending Reed College.
🏔️ Dimitri Gurin, a Nelson High School grad, is heading to Montana State University to study Business.
🎾 Jackson Jensen graduated from Beaverton High School and is headed to Linfield to study Finance and play tennis.
🌊 Lily Nguyen from Benson High School will pursue Marine Biology at the University of Oregon.
🏛️ Hazel Patterson, a Roosevelt High School graduate, will study Political Science at George Washington University.
🏃‍♀️ Taylor Sheldon, Lake Oswego High School, will continue her running career at Northern Colorado while pursuing a degree in kinesiology.
🏈 Killian Sombe graduated from Central Catholic High School and will continue his football career at the University of Oregon.
Shana Bulahao, a David Douglas High School graduate, will be attending Oregon State University.
Gabrielle Hill graduated from Lincoln High School and will attend California State University Monterey Bay.
Janaiah Ferguson from Parkrose High School is heading to Dominican University of California.
Nadia Vins-Graya, a Tigard High School graduate, will be attending University of Oregon.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Sit Abdalle
A graduate from Grant High School, Sit has demonstrated leadership through athletics, academics, and service to others. As a football student-athlete, he has built strong teamwork and leadership skills while also supporting students in his role as a paraeducator, helping create welcoming and encouraging environments for young learners. This fall, Sit will continue his education at Portland State with a focus on building a meaningful career centered on service and community impact.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Lauren Sexton
A graduate from West Linn High School, Lauren has demonstrated excellence in both athletics and leadership as a standout swimmer, accomplished student journalist, and mentor in her community. Through her work as a journalism editor and volunteer swim coach for Special Olympics athletes, she has shown a strong commitment to supporting and uplifting others.
This fall, Lauren will attend Washington State University, where she plans to study Communications with a minor in Journalism while continuing her swimming career.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Junelizabeth Sherman-Lewis
A dedicated student-athlete, musician, and community leader from Rex Putnam High School, Junelizabeth has excelled as an IB Diploma Candidate, varsity swim team captain, and president of her school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society while giving back through music and environmental service. This fall, she plans to study Biology at Saint Olaf College, combining her love of science and hands-on problem solving to make a meaningful impact.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Filmon Abrham
Filmon will pursue a degree in Engineering at Portland State and continue building on his strengths in mathematics, problem-solving, and academic growth. He demonstrates dedication both in the classroom and on the soccer field, where he has developed discipline, teamwork, and perseverance as a high school athlete. Filmon’s commitment to responsibility, family, and continuous improvement makes him a amazing recipient of this $10,000 award.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Patrick Duque
Patrick will pursue a degree in Nursing and is committed to building a future in healthcare and service at Western Oregon University. As a varsity basketball captain and point guard, he has demonstrated strong leadership, teamwork, and dedication while earning recognition for his performance and character. Patrick’s commitment to community service through Key Club, Red Cross, and school-based volunteer work makes him an outstanding recipient of this scholarship.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Anna Lindaman
Anna will attend Boise State University to study Education with the goal of becoming a high school English teacher. She is a dedicated student-athlete and leader in Cross Country and Track & Field, where she has served as a team captain and state competitor while also contributing to school leadership through the Student Athlete Leadership Team and National English Honor Society. Anna’s commitment to leadership, education, and creating inclusive communities makes her a remarkable recipient of this scholarship.

Saturday Scholarship Shoutout: Maddy Green
Maddy, the recipient of the 2026 Swanson Family Scholarship, will attend Columbia University, where she will study Spanish and Biology with plans to pursue medical school. She is a dedicated student-athlete and scholar who rose from learning to swim in high school to becoming a two-time Junior Olympic water polo competitor and varsity team captain. Alongside her athletic achievements, Maddy has excelled in the classroom, demonstrating exceptional academic discipline and drive.

As a water polo captain, she focused on building an inclusive team culture and mentoring younger athletes, and through her work as a swim instructor, she has emphasized water safety education and community impact. Her experiences have strengthened her commitment to protecting and educating others, while shaping her long-term goal of becoming a physician.

We are proud to recognize Bailey Rudzinski, recipient of the 2026 Houser Scholarship, whose creativity, leadership, and dedication span academics, athletics, and the arts.

Bailey will attend the University of Oregon, where she will major in Architecture and receive her Bachelor's and Master's degree through their accelerated five year program. She has earned recognition across multiple disciplines, including the John Philip Sousa Award, Career and Technical Education Student of the Month, and a 4th place state finish with her woodwind trio. A three-year cross-country team captain, Bailey demonstrated persistence, growth, and leadership through years of disciplined training and team mentorship. She also co-founded a social justice club focused on addressing sexism and building awareness within her school community.

Through her experiences in athletics, leadership, the arts, and customer service work, Bailey has developed resilience, communication skills, and a strong commitment to advocacy and community connection. She plans to use her studies in architecture to design meaningful, community-centered spaces that bring people together.
