A picture is worth 500+ pages of wisdom in this case…now available on Darth Vader’s favorite online book purveyor!!!

If you miss the SIIC experience, here is a pretty close approximation if you ever interacted with Jack on campus.

One caution, block out more time than usual for reading a “textbook”, this one is a page turner!!

The go-fund-me campaign for the Janet M. Bennett Intercultural Library is of limited duration. Our thanks go out to those who have donated already. And to those who have intended to, but haven't gotten around to it, herewith a gentle reminder:

On January 27th of last year, our friend, mentor, and veritable giant-in-the-field left us. With your help, her legacy can live on through the Janet M. Bennett Intercultural Library. Please make a donation 📚💻🌏https://bit.ly/janetlegacy
If you knew Janet Bennett, then you know how important the ICI Library was to her. As we pass the one-year anniversary of her death, Janet's worst fear — that her beloved Library might be discarded upon her passing — has been avoided.
With Janet's blessing and the guidance of former ICI Librarian Sandy Garrison, a consortium of dedicated institutions now share and host the Library’s holdings.
However, to move beyond simply receiving and safely housing the over 35,000 materials it holds, we need your help.
Janet’s estate, unfortunately, did not leave funds for the ongoing care of the collection. So, just as she so often showed up for us, we now need the Intercultural Community to come together for Janet.
Your financial support —large, small or in between— will allow the Library consortium members to:
🔸 Catalog the collection for the public to provide an up-to-date inventory of the Library in its current state, including previously unexamined files and source materials,
🔸 Digitize key original papers to make them available for free for fellow practitioners and scholars worldwide,
🔸 Examine and protect delicate primary materials, including slides, photo negatives, and handwritten materials,
🔸 Coordinate the internationally-distributed resources across the host institutions, and
🔸 Ensure that the Library materials are safely maintained for future generations.
Please remember Janet by making a donation today at https://bit.ly/janetlegacy
