Maine Canine Advocates Maine Pit Bull Advocates is a charity organization created on September 14, 2013. We show the world how truly loving and loyal these dogs are!

This page is run by a team of people who are dedicated to dogs; pit bulls especially! We speak out against Breed Specific Legislation, breed discrimination, animal abuse, and dog fighting. We strongly support spaying/neutering, responsible ownership, positive reinforcement training methods, and breed education. The goal of a bully breed owner is to strive to break the negative stereotype that all

bully breeds face. MPBA works hard to help shelter dogs/dogs in need. We share adoptable pit bulls from Maine shelters and rescues in the hopes of finding them homes, as well as rescue dogs of our own and find them homes. We do fundraisers and online campaigns to raise money for our local shelters and rescued dogs. We're very proud of all our accomplishments thus far. We know that none of it would have been possible without our supportive followers, so we thank you all & look forward to continuing our mission.

KENNEBUNK (WGME) -- The Animal Welfare Society will undergo the second stage of their kennel renovations starting on Monday. The shelter is asking for the public’s help to find loving home for some pooches they don’t think will handle the renovation well. The shelter says the chain link....

Sweet Dolly is approaching the two month mark at the shelter. This lovable girl is looking for an adult only home. She often forgets that she weighs almost 70 lbs, isn't as light as a feather and sometimes needs to not climb up and into your lap. 🤪🤪🤪 An American Bulldog mix she is a bundle of fun but is also happy to curl up and take a nap. Come say "Hello Dolly!"

Please share this handsome fella so he can find his forever people

Where are the non-pibble peeps at? Leo is the HANDSOME-EST, non-pittie looking guy ever (would you ever believe his mama in the south looked to be a pit mix?) 🐕

At 10-ish months old, he is working at learning to love life! And lately he has won the golden star ⭐️

He's shy around new people, and we're working with him on growing his confidence so he can have the best life ever. At his new foster home we’re getting tons of updates on how AMAZING he is doing!

Fun things about Leo:

➡️ He's beautiful, and we often him "Furry-Face."

➡️ He does this little hose-whinny thing when he sees people- he's SO happy to see his fosters when they come into his room that he's just a wiggling, whinnying yellow blur for a minute.

➡️ He knows some basic commands, and is learning more.

➡️ He love peanut-butter-stuffed Kongs, and walks in the woods.

He will make THE BEST EVER hiking partner/couch buddy EVER. We are learning that he loves cats, and other dogs too! Leo would is looking for a special family to call his own ❤️
