WASTE 30 MINUTES WITH US!

Our first litter pickup of the year is Friday, September 4, from 2:30 to 3 PM. Meet at the picnic tables and help us clean up around the school grounds.

It’s a litter bit of effort that makes a big difference for the spaces where our kids play.

Grabbers, gloves, and bags are provided, so there’s no need to bring your own baggage. Just show up and help us clean up our act.

Huge thanks to Savannah Dombeck for leading this garbage gathering of do-gooders!

Come for the trash talk. Stay for the warm glow of civic responsibility.

Join the PTA for Popsicles on the Playground

Friday, September 4, 6 to 7 PM, Arleta Playground

We’ll bring the popsicles and lawn games. You bring the kids, your competitive co****le energy, and any favorite games you’d like to share.

Come meet other families, learn a little about what the PTA does, and kick off the school year with a very low-pressure social commitment.

It’s going to be pretty cool.

We are happy that Nutrition Services will again provide Free Meals for all Portland Public Schools students: one breakfast and one lunch per day at no charge.

Families do not need to apply for meal benefits.

WE’VE STILL GOT A FEVER. AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION IS MORE DOLPHINS

Good news: the dolphins are coming.

On Sunday, August 30, we’re taking Arleta pride to the streets (literally) and installing our colorful new street mural on SE 66th!

The mural will brighten the neighborhood, enhance bicycle safety, and celebrate our Foster/Mt. Scott community. But we can’t do it without some actual humans holding paintbrushes.

ODE TO GIRLS ON THE RUN - Sign Up!

Oh, girls of third through fifth grade,
with sneakers tied (or maybe not),
with energy we cannot explain
and friendship on the brain.

Come run.
Come walk.
Come laugh.
Come learn.

Strong is finishing a lap.
Strong is trying something new.
Strong is cheering on a friend.
Strong is being kind to you.

There will be running.
There will be laughter.
There will be sweaty afternoons.

And at the end?
A WHOLE 5K.
But you’ll get there together.
Girls on the Run is back at Arleta for year THREE!
