Each day of the 2026 Season of Creation (9/1 - 10/4), you can receive a devotion via email from our friends at Episcopal Path to Creation. Devotions will highlight keystone species in Canada's Province One EcoRegion, and will include a photo, a brief description, thoughts on how the species reflects our image of God, and a closing prayer. Devotions will be prepared by Episcopalians from around Province One.

Says Rev. Julian DeShazier (also the hip-hop artist J.Kwest) for the : "sometimes—maybe especially during these trying times—what we need most isn’t a sermon but a conversation, a chance to talk or yell or cry. It’s a reminder that my vocation as shepherd isn’t always about leading the flock somewhere; sometimes it’s about standing in the crap with them."

If your heart is hurting, aching to make sense of the suffering that is and is to come from a climate-changed world: our hearts are hurting, too.

From the AP: "Shova Shrestha, 33, has spent more than a day seeking word of her husband, Rajan Shrestha. She said his phone rang when she first called after the floods, but it later became unreachable. Since then, she has watched every helicopter that landed in Bidur, the capital of Nuwakot district, hoping he might be among the survivors.

'I keep looking at each helicopter, hoping he will step out of it,' Shova said."

This year's EcoPreacher Cohort will feature wisdom and teaching from powerful preachers eager to help you hone your own craft. One of this year's presenters is Rev. Dr. Catherine E. Williams, Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship & Director of Chapel Worship at the Lancaster, PA, campus of Moravian University’s School of Theology.

In her scholarship and teaching, Dr. Williams embraces her dual identities of musician and homiletician. Her article in the Yale Journal of Music and Religion, “Sermon and Song: A Musically Integrative Homiletic”, makes the claim for conjoined preaching and music as a homiletical method.

Her chapter in The Future Shape of Christian Proclamation: What the Global South Can Teach Us About Preaching, edited by LaRue and Nascimento, is titled “Trinidad & Tobago Preaching: The Gospel According to Calypso.” This is the first sustained homiletical analysis of this Caribbean musical genre.

Her most recent book, Preaching and Music: Powerful Partners in Proclamation, (Cascade 2025) sustains her ongoing claim that when preaching and music are combined, the synergy they produce is a powerful means of embedding God’s Word into people’s hearts. Dr. Williams has taught several courses at Lexington Theological Seminary, the most recent of which was, “Worship and Song Amid Climate Challenges.”

On September 18, Our friends at Center for Earth Ethics will be at the historic The Riverside Church with Columbia Climate Change Coalition, hosting a free, powerful event: “Immorality of Inaction: Voicing Truth on Climate."
