Today was a special moment. I had the privilege of standing alongside Rep. Mana Abdi and the proud people of Lewiston as she officially launched her campaign for Maine State Senate District 21.

Rep. Abdi has served the people of House District 95 with dedication and heart, and I have no doubt she will do even greater things as a State Senator.

Thank you for your service, Rep. Abdi.

I can’t wait to see the incredible work you will do for Senate District 21 and the entire state of Maine.

Good luck and best wishes on this journey!

Dear Portland,

Thank you for your support over the years, tomorrow is Election Day. Over these past months, I’ve had the privilege of listening to neighbors and sharing a vision for a Portland that is inclusive, affordable, and connected.

This campaign has always been about us about building a city where everyone has a voice and a fair chance to thrive.

I’m asking for your vote so we can continue that work together. Let’s keep moving Portland forward, one step, one vote, one neighbor at a time.

Today I canvassed Peaks Island all morning. I walked the roads, knocked on doors, and listened to neighbors talk about the place they love. Surrounded by ocean, trees, and sky, I was reminded of something simple. The land beneath our feet is not ours. It is a gift, not a guarantee.

We are not owners. We are stewards. And we have a shared responsibility to protect what we have been given.

That is why we are working with advocates to explore a ban on cruise ship scrubbers. Ships would be required to use clean fuels like Marine Gas Oil while docked. We are also working toward installing solar panels on all school and public buildings, turning rooftops into sources of clean, local energy.

These are steps we can take together to build a healthier, more sustainable future. This is how we begin to leave the world better than we found it.

🇺🇸 On this July 4th, I’m reminded that freedom must mean fairness.

While we celebrate Independence Day, Congress just passed a budget that takes food, healthcare, and housing away from millions including over 64,000 Mainers to give more tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.

That is not the America I believe in.

About a month ago, Councilor Regina Phillips
and I took out papers to run for re-election. Yesterday, I was informed that I had qualified for the ballot in my race.

While I’m honored to continue serving, I know this moment calls for more than leadership it calls for action.

We need local government that stands up for people when the federal system turns its back. I’m ready to lead that work but I can’t do it alone.

💪🏽 If you’re ready to help, send me a message or visit www.piousali.com to sign up, volunteer, or support.

In the coming days, I’ll be sharing how we’ll build this campaign with care, courage, and community.

Let’s fight for what’s right together.
