this is a dialog and resource exchange page. our goal is to preserve the current live hiphop scene by establishing a "citizens oversight committee" to act as a mediating agency between the PPD, the OLCC, venue owners/promoters and artists. Ideally we would have a loud voice in regards to transparency of process. Currently well respect a

nd established small business owners are being coerced into refusing to book hiphop by the Portland Police Department- with threats of increased patrols, random warrant checks and more frequent visits from the OLCC. This is obvious racial profiling, and there needs to be an established entity for demanding multi-agency accountibility and transparency. At best we will develop a loud voice within relevant city politics, at worse we will have a developed and focused advocacy group to counter the oppressors.
