When an employee brings a serious concern to HR, there's rarely a checklist telling you exactly what to do next.

Do you investigate? How formal should the process be? Who needs to be involved? And how do you make sure the final decision is fair and well supported?

On October 28, employment attorneys Bruce Garrett and Ally McLain will join PHRMA for From Concern to Conclusion: A Practical Guide to Workplace Investigations.

Together, we'll explore how to navigate workplace concerns from initial intake through investigation, findings, and follow-up, including some of the difficult judgment calls HR professionals have to make along the way.

This month, we're excited to recognize Karissa Flaum-Jardin as PHRMA's Volunteer of the Month!

Karissa first remembers realizing PHRMA was the right place for her during a Training & Development session in December 2025.

At the time, she was experiencing professional burnout and looking for people who understood the challenges that can come with working in HR.

Since then, Karissa has made connections through PHRMA that she says she wouldn't have made on her own and has helped create experiences for others, including PHRMA's 2026 Book Club.

"This community helps me feel less alone."
