We were asked to take a look at the water system serving the San Isidro community. This community’s water is in short supply. Each house receives water every 15 days and they must store approximately 450 gallons at each home on the day they receive water to last them the 15 day interval. We have been monitoring source water and main supply tank meters here over the last several months to determine if there are excessive water losses in the form of waste and/or leakage. During this visit we found there is very little leakage and people are doing a good job of conserving water. This community of 450 homes needs a large scale water system improvement in the form of a new transmission main to move additional water from their source to their main tank. They have plenty of water and pumping capacity at their source, but there is a bottleneck in the two miles of existing two-inch transmission main between the source and main tank. They need a new parallel galvanized transmission main of either three- or four-inch galvanized metal pipe to provide for their short and long-term needs.

Please pray for the family in these pictures. The woman has had two surgeries on a brain tumor. There is nothing left to do for her medically on the malignant tumor and it continues to grow. They have requested a new house to be built. Their wood construction home is pretty eaten up with termites. This husband and wife are both believers.

MTMO has also partnered with -de-villanueva to evaluate drinking water scarcity in the La Gloria community. MTMO installed a source water meter downstream of the water well supplying this community. With over 18 months of meter readings we are confident this well produces five gallons per minute. The well is operated to provide 3,000 gallons per day and they send that water to sectors of the system four days per week with approximately ten homes in each sector. After evaluating operation of the system we determined they cannot account for approximately half of the water they are pumping to their system. After explaining our findings to the Junta de Agua (water board) in the community we recommended that the they install water meters at individual homes to help determine the final destination of water they pump from their well. The community quickly understood the logic of using water meters at individual homes along with source water readings to help determine whether unaccounted for water was being wasted, lost through leakage or a combination of both. The Junta de Agua requested that we install individual water meters in their community. MTMO left 46 water meters with them and instructions on how to install them for all water users in the community. MTMO is also providing pipe and fittings to facilitate installation of new water meters. We look forward to receiving new meter data and helping this community figure out how to better manage their limited drinking water source. We expect this community to be a place for a drinking water project on the January 2026 MTMO trip to Honduras.

Yesterday we visited this new house for which construction was recently completed. This new home is in a community located near the community of Felipe Borhas. The family living here now had no land or home before this house was constructed with generous MTMO donor funds. A husband, wife and five children call this house their home. The adults are believers. The lady of the house tells us she prayed for a home for 20 years and considers this house an answered prayer. Construction of homes has become an extremely popular ministry for MTMO and we pray for many more generous individuals and organizations that me fell led to donate funds to continue this work. With the partnership of -de-Villanueva this very popular ministry is able to construct very nice, new homes that comply with local codes for approximately $8,500.

We have worked several days on this trip with people in the La Curena community to move their drinking water project along. On past trips we constructed a concrete water storage tank, a concrete cistern tank and pipework to collect water from their source. On this trip we purchased pipe for their transmission line to go from their source to their storage tank. We also purchased piping for approximately one half of their distribution system. We partnered with

to provide a backhoe that greatly sped up excavation for distribution and transmission pipework installation. The Municipality also provided more than 40 water meters to be installed at each new customer’s connection to this brand new water system after infrastructure installation is complete.

Most importantly the Municipality has provided oversight and excellent personnel as this project has progressed over the last several years to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements will be met.

MTMO has been monitoring the water source for this project with meter readings for several months to confirm reliable capacity of the source. When new water meters are also installed for individual water users that will connect to the system the Junta de Agua (water board) will have detailed information to help them manage waste, control leakage and set reasonable water rates that will help this community become financially independent and operate their system in a sustainable manner.

Next steps after completion of this phase of pipework will be to have our friends at Bombas y Motores de Honduras S.A. visit the site, review conditions and provide a quote for installation of a new pumping system.

After the pumping system is installed the new pipework and tanks will be filled and tested for leakage.

We look forward to seeing the next phase of this project and will update as we receive new information. We also look forward to continued work with the community and MTMO team members on the upcoming January 2027 MTMO mission trip to Honduras.

We visited the community of El Pedregal to check on their water system. They have a few challenges with limited source water and securing their largest water source from contamination by surface water runoff. Both water sources are in areas where falling leaves collect and new covers are needed to keep leaves out of their drinking water. We are leaving materials for them to construct a cover over the sources and are coordination with the Municipality of Villanueva to modify surface water damage around their largest water source so it is protected from runoff. We expect the covers and grading for improved drainage to be completed between now and or January trip. We plan to modify the concrete structure on their largest source in January and to construct a more permanent covering structure on their secondary water source.

A water system serving the communities of El Catatau and Bella Vista (the new planned community started by MTMO and mentioned in the previous post) may be in need of expansion to meet the needs of current homes and homes to be constructed in the future by MTMO. There are no water meters monitoring the source water being supplied to this community. MTMO provided two water meters to the community on this trip. They will install one meter on the existing water source so the reliable volume of the existing source can be established. A second meter has been supplied by MTMO to measure how much water is available from a second nearby water source to which the community has access. Existing water use patterns will be examined to determine if leakage and waste are an issue in the existing system before considering development of the second system at this time. Information gathered from meter readings between now and when we return in January will help determine what type of project and/or education in water use or operational habits may need to change for the community to effectively manage their available water resources.

Yesterday we visited a community we are being allowed to develop from scratch on land purchased by one of our generous donors. You can see in the short video a third house in this project being started on this day with funds from generously provided donor funds. The family receiving this house has no house or land of their own - the same situation that the two families in the other two completed homes in the video were in before those homes were constructed. These homes are solidly constructed using quality materials and workmanship. They will provide comfortable living for generations of families with the knowledge that they were provided because Christ first loved the people that donated the funds and the work to provide them.

We have had a great planning trip in Honduras. We arrived last Friday and look forward to heading home this afternoon to see our loved ones. Thank you if you have contributed monetarily and especially if you have prayed for our efforts to show the love of Christ to poor people in Honduras.

Late in the trip we had a request to supply a 2,500 liter water tank for a group of homes along the road near the El Souce community. These people had asked for assistance last January and we were able to come through for them on this trip. They will install the water tank on an elevated platform. When we return in January we’ll check on them to see if they need assistance with piping. They are very thankful for the gift. They would not have been able to come up with the approximately $500 needed to purchase the tank. We look forward to seeing them again in January.
