🍎 Back to school means back to school lunch! 🥪

As families settle into new school routines, school lunch can make the day a little easier. In Maine, school meals are free for all students—saving families time and money while giving kids access to nutritious, balanced meals.

School lunch can help:
⏰ Save time on busy mornings
💰 Stretch the family food budget
🥕 Introduce kids to a variety of healthy foods
💪 Give kids the fuel they need to learn, play and grow

A healthy school day starts with healthy habits—and school lunch can be part of the routine! 🎒🍎. Good luck students!

Kids at Ready Set Go Outside are having a ball on their new slides thanks to the Hannaford Supermarkets Eat Well, Be Well grant money. A covered slide allows for use year round and kids can slide with confidence while playing- demonstrating how play is important to developmental growth. "I like the twisty slide, it slows me down," said one happy child. We all could use something to slow us down and enjoy our time outdoors.

Back-to-school season is a great time to reset healthy routines—including sleep! 😴📚

Getting enough quality sleep does more than help kids feel rested and ready to learn—it also plays an important role in supporting heart health.

Let’s Go! Medical Director, Carrie Gordon, MD recently spoke with WMTW-TVabout why healthy sleep routines matter and how families can help kids get back on track as the school year begins.

As families get back into school-year routines, doctors say making sure children get enough sleep can improve learning and energy while also helping protect their long-term heart health.
