5210 Let's Go!

5210 Let's Go! Let's Go! is all about healthy eating and active living. No screen time under the age of 2

We understand it’s important to have a consistent message about healthy habits so we partner with teachers, doctors, child care providers, and community organizations to help spread the 5-2-1-0 message:

5 – fruits and veggies
2 – hours or less of recreational screen time*
1 – hour or more of physical activity
0 – sugary drinks, more water

* Keep TV/computer out of bedroom.

At Family Focus, the Hannaford Supermarkets Eat Well, Be Well grant was used for new prop boxes which include a variety of activities. Program Director Amanda Beaudette said the boxes were a great addition for the end of the school year to engage students in something new. Boxes rotate between their program locations for kids to experience different screen-free activities. It is exciting to see kids working together and learning while also having fun!

Earlier this week Carrie Gordon, HEAL Medical Director and Emily Kain, Sr. Program Manager were in DC as part of FIMCON 2026 (Food is Medicine Conference) where Emily moderated a panel session on advancing Food is Medicine in rural health. Together with panelists from Maryland and North Carolina, Emily highlighted the importance of, and strategies for, implementing FIM in rural communities. Our HEAL team has been integral in establishing Food is Medicine programs across various MaineHealth regions. We are proud of our colleagues’ work and strides they are making with these programs to support our patients with diet sensitive disease.
