2025 marks the 14th year of the PDX Urban Winery Association. It also marks the year that I (Laurie from Hip Chicks do Wine) am finally stepping down as President. My time "officially" promoting all of these amazing wineries in Portland has truly been a joy.

I'm so proud of how we have grown from 6 wineries in 2011 to now 20 winery members. In fact when Renee and I started Hip Chicks do Wine back in 1999 we were one of the ONLY urban wineries in the US (there were 3 more around that time that I know of). So the fact that we have grown so much as an industry is truly amazing.

I look forward to passing the baton off to some great friends in our Association and seeing how they move us into the future.

If you haven't purchased tickets yet to this weekends PDX Urban Wine Experience on 6/1 you still have time. You'll find me behind the Hip Chicks table, helping with wine sales or just running around in general for my final event.

Last year Aaron of LeSage Cellars was pouring at the Seven Bridges Winery Table but this year you'll find him pouring his own wines at the 2026 PDX Urban Wine Experience! Be sure to try his inaugural release of LeSage Cellars 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon and he'll have a Barrel Sample of Viognier as well!
