The American Cancer Society is proud to honor Dr. Brian Druker, President of the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, at the Portland Hope Gala this year.

A visionary physician-scientist, Dr. Druker's groundbreaking work led to the development of Gleevec— the first targeted therapy to successfully treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML)—transforming a once-fatal diagnosis into a manageable disease and ushering in the era of precision cancer medicine.

Our collaborative partnership with Dr. Druker spans more than 40 years, beginning with three research grants that helped support his early career work in the 1980s. Dr. Druker’s pioneering discoveries revolutionized cancer treatment, transformed outcomes for patients around the world, and continue to shape the future of cancer research and care.

The Portland Hope Gala is returning on Saturday, November 7th, and we're thrilled to welcome guests to our beautiful new venue, the Marriott Downtown Waterfront!
