Portland High School Juniors are bringing their community together and creating connections through out their school! Utilizing their communication, leadership, and technological skills the students will develop a new club at their high school centered on E-Sports. It will be an inclusive space for students who are not connected to traditional extracurricular activities to participate in their school community!

We are happy to announce another awarded grant! Students at Lincoln Middle School created an art contest to empower multilingual students, celebrate diverse perspectives, and cultivate belonging. Through creative expression students will honor their identities, cultures, and communities. Selected pieces will be on display at the city's First Friday Art Walk. Using leadership and organizational skills, the planning committee will learn about their community's culture while amplifying student voices!

NEW! Student Empowerment Grants!!

Painting for a Purpose recognizes that this is a challenging moment for our school community. Our mission has always been to empower students to use their voices to strengthen their community, and we know that many students and staff may be feeling powerless right now.

Our goal is to support students at a time when many of us feel unsure of what to do next. While we don’t have the resources to solve every problem, we do have funds dedicated to helping students take meaningful action.

We have set aside $10,000 to offer grants of up to $1,000 each. All Portland Public Schools students in grades K–12 are eligible to apply.

Submissions will be accepted from February 5th to March 5th. Awards will be made on February 12, February 26, and March 5, or until funds are fully distributed.

We are excited to announce another awarded grant! Portland High School Juniors are launching an inclusive dance club, welcoming students from all backgrounds and those eager to learn! Their club will be a great way students can build confidence, creativity, and leadership skills. Together they will cultivate an inclusive environment for students to develop their craft and build meaningful connections within their community.
