Milk banks exist to meet a need that often goes unspoken: What happens when a mother can’t breastfeed her newborn? Maybe the baby came early, too small to latch. Maybe the mother is recovering from surgery, or her milk hasn’t come in. Maybe it’s the first chaotic week of life, and nothing is going to plan.

The Rotary Foundation has awarded nearly 100 global grants toward human milk bank projects. Read more at the Rotary International website.

Milk banks turn donated mothers’ milk into lifesaving nourishment for vulnerable newborns, giving babies the healthiest possible start.

Rotary Area of Focus Maternal and Child Health: About 830 women and 7,000 newborns, mainly in low- and middle-income countries, die each day because of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. These deaths are mostly preventable. Midwives are key to preventing them, so an initiative organized by Rotary members is supporting the essential work of midwives in Papua New Guinea and Australia. Click the link to read more.

Rotary members support midwives in remote communities by building leadership skills, professional networks, and capacity to improve maternal health.

Is it time for a change to your online branding?? If you are using any of the logos in this first picture, it is definitely time!!

Here are some graphics for the current Rotary year, plus options for our the signature brand/MOE, sized for use as FB profile pictures. Right click to download any file, then edit as needed for your use. Or you can always visit the Rotary Brand Center for more options. https://brandcenter.rotary.org/

Or maybe even better, use your own club's logo or a graphic relevant to your community so you don't have to remember to update each July. Be sure to follow guidelines as provided in the Brand Center when creating your own design.

Let's present clear and consistent Rotary imaging around our District!

Message From DG Michele:
Some folks have been asking about how to support the relief efforts happening in Venezuela, as a result of the devastating earthquakes two weeks ago.

Rotary International Directors and Trustees through the Rotary Foundation, are working with the two districts in Venezuela (directly impacted) to send funding for most urgent needs.

Here at home we can help by donating to ShelterBox who is positioned to send immediate, fully equipped shelters for people who are currently living on the streets in unsafe conditions.

The second way to help is by donating to the Rotary Foundation Disaster Response fund- https://my.rotary.org/en/disaster-response-fund

Until further assessments are made and more information is forthcoming, this is the best way to assist. Thank you for your kind and generous hearts in supporting our fellow Rotarians and fellow humans, in need.
