This is the week. Our 2025-26 season opener, Three Rivers, comes to the Lincoln Recital Hall stage at Portland State University, this Saturday!
This concert explores the rivers of energy found in nature–electricity such as lightning, the invisible air currents that waft clouds and birds aflight, and, of course, life-giving water. Rivers can be peaceful, gentle, and joyful in one moment, and then suddenly violent and dangerous. Every lightning strike is an instantaneous transfer of energy, a river of powerful electricity between the clouds and the ground. Every river is a flow of watery mass from one place to another, every cloud a collection of gases carried aloft by atmospheric rivers connecting diverse parts of the world.
This program features the music of members I’lana S. Cotton, Brian Field, Mary Fineman, Steven P. James, Theresa Koon, Alon Nechushtan, Paul Safar, Ian Wiese, and Nicholas Yandell, performed by the Metolius Trio.
Please join us for this thrilling concert!
