I recently rode to the top of the Oregon City Municipal Elevator, where I noticed a plaque with the names of those involved with its construction in the 1950s. Among the names was C. George Helzer. A few hours of research later that day revealed that Conrad George was the son of John Helzer and Elisabeth Burbach from Norka.
