🎉 Congratulations to our 2026 Peninsula Optimist Club Scholarship recipient, Nevaeh Landrum!🎉
We are proud to recognize this outstanding student for her dedication to service, leadership, academics, and mentoring young people in her community.
Throughout high school, she has maintained a 3.9 GPA while balancing a wide range of leadership and volunteer roles. She has served as a counselor and mentor through after-school and summer programs, including LEAP, Sports Madness Summer Camp, and the Read Alliance literacy program, where she helped younger students develop reading skills and confidence. She also volunteers with her church’s Kids City program, leading lessons, crafts, and activities that help children learn and grow.
In addition to her commitment to community service, she has excelled as a student-athlete. She is a two-time MVP in varsity basketball, a state champion and school record holder in track and field, and competed at the national level as part of a top-performing relay team. She has also completed multiple AP and college-level courses while earning CPR and AED certification.
This fall, she will attend Portland State University to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Her passion for working with children, combined with her leadership and service, will make her a wonderful educator and role model for future generations.
We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make in her community and in the classroom!
