Guide Dogs for the Blind – Portland (East), OR Puppy Raisers are proud to raise guide dog puppies

Sight in the City is a puppy raising club for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Volunteer raisers teach puppies-in-training basic obedience, house manners and socialize the puppies to prepare them for formal guide dog training. If you have any questions or are interested in joining please contact:

Farmers Market season is upon us☀️💐

Markets like these are great real-world training spots for pups! They’re full of people, food smells, noises, and dog distractions — the perfect place to practice neutrality, confidence, and focus in a busy environment.

Seville DID in fact go chasing waterfalls! And practiced walking over difference surfaces and grates on her hike! 🌿

The Portland Thorns have KICKED OFF their season in Soccer City USA - and GDB Malone got to cheer them on! ⚽️

The Portland Thorns are a professional women’s soccer team, and their games provide an amazing - but challenging - training grounds for Guide Dog Puppies in Training. Crowds, cheering, moving balls, and lots of dropped popcorn and food are just some of the things Malone braved at the game. Great work!🌹

And the big surprise…meet Milan !! 🇮🇹

Milan is extra special because one of his raisers, Kris C**n, has been raising for Guide Dogs for the Blind for 20 years now, and Milan is puppy #20 for her!

He’s from the Allie X Yuki born 2/22/2026. Allie was raised here in our Portland East club and Milan is Allie baby #3 we have had the pleasure of raising!

Congrats to 20 in 20 Kris, and thank you for continuing GDB’s legacy through the decades🥂🐾

Sweet Delhi recalled to Oregon campus for formal training today, we’re so excited to cheer her on and wish her the best of luck in formal training!! One of her puppy raisers receives a very special surprise today as well…stay tuned👀🐾

Bottle Drop is doing an Earth Week Give Campaign from April 15-26, offering an extra 20% on all bags of cans dropped during that time!

Portland East at PDX! ✈️

Our club had the opportunity to practice riding the train to the Portland International Airport. The pups practiced public transportation and gained confidence taking in the sights and sounds of the busy airport!
