Hello! I wanted to give an update about where the donations I received went, from October. While it was my intention to make bags from all the supplies and disperse them myself to folx, I experienced a tragedy - and have been mourning and unable to do anything outside the bare minimum of surviving. BUT good news, I was able to drop off 4 heaping grocery sized bags of supplies to Rose Haven PDX- in addition to the supplies in the photo I was able to get a ton of rain ponchos, 6 pullover sweatshirts, gloves, beanies and thanks to some folx who donated gently used items - I collected 5 sleeping bags and 3 tents that I handed out directly to people.
Thank you to all who donated and I plan on picking up where I left off once I am able to

One of the simplest yet impactful things you can do for someone experiencing homelessness is give them your time - a conversation, or at the very least a smile and friendly “hello”. One of the things so many people mention about being without a home is the isolation; people veering their eyes away, much less a hello.

Hello!
I am currently in the beginning steps of building this page for Collective Care PDX - for those of you have seen my posts (pesky algorithms) I am collecting all sort of essential supplies to distribute to unhoused folx here in the Portland area

The winters are intense in Portland, and we have an estimated 6,000 people without homes. The city has clearly shown it does not care about this crisis. I believe while we might not be able to solve this entire issue ourselves, it is important these people have at least the essentials to weather Portlands winter.

I am taking donations through my personal Venmo : Stevia_ nix (I will be setting up a separate Venmo for CC PDX soon) and I am accepting donations in the form of all essential items: Warm clothing, SOCKS, shoes, etc + toiletries, tents, sleeping bags, and pantry food (any food that stores well without refrigeration, and can be eaten without cooking, or with minimal cooking)
