I have been homeless for 19 months, I was in a TPI shelter for five months and they said once I had the income to qualify for an apartment they would provide STRA (short term rental assistance) as far as application fees, deposit and one month rent, so I now have the way to pay for rent every month and called my "housing case manager" at TPI to inquire about how to access those funds and they tell me.....
I HAVE TO BE IN THE SHELTER TO RECEIVE THAT ASSISTANCE

I now am afraid I will lose this opportunity and the chance to get inside before the winter.
I am supposed to meet with the apartment manager tomorrow at 2pm to turn in applications. She is willing to work with us and split the deposit up over payments. We do not know the amount of deposit until she runs the application. It is 500.00 or 1,000 and pro-rated rent amount for this month to get in. The application fees are 90.00 for the two of us. That is the amount I need by tomorrow.
90.00, If anyone knows where I can access CoC funds or any other organizations that offer this help I would appreciate it. They can pay directly to apartment if they want to. They even said they would take a promissory phone call from a real housing organization!

General Delivery is a mail service for those without a permanent address, often used as a temporary mailing address.

We are partnering with to build and clean up our area with our Lents Spring Neighborhood Clean. We want to invite the community to participate in your most ridiculously joyful attire!

We will have our two favorite unicorns dancing to a little reggae through the streets with some trash grabbers and meet back up for a quick lunch sponsored by Metro!

It's Friday ✨

We will be in Lents Park tonight for our longest running community gathering in East Portland. This year will be our 6th year gathering on Fridays together.

These nights are a collective of hearts that realize that we live bound and responsible to care for one another.

I love the way that Kat Armas reminds us that all of it... every bit of our wellness depends on that of our sisters and brothers. In our pain and in our joy, we are not liberated, unless we all are liberated together.

So one of our own may be missing. His name is Jr. He became homeless in Gresham and remained so for about two years but may have traveled out to Portland when Gresham made it almost impossible to exist here. His family needs some help locating him. We all have our reasons for staying away from our families while we figure things out. His family just wants to make sure he's ok. A mother longs for her son. If you have seen Jr. ..let us know. I just help run this page..you guys are the heart of it❤
